As James says, there is no fighter who has done what he has...He started out at MW...and won titles all the way up to HW and has remained competitive in the division...his accomplishments stand alone. No other fighter has done that. RJJ almost did but he ran back below the weight limit, because he knew he couldn't compete. Lights Out is an All Time Great.

He has also won fight of the year in '03 with Jirov, and was Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year in '91 and '03...his skills are unparalleled in the HW division.

Instead of having a performance like James Toney did against Sam Peter the first time, pressing a rematch...I believe Sam would have KTFO RJJ.

    Toney lost.

And they made poor old Sam do the fight over again.

This pissed him off, so he beat Toney much worse the second time.

Roy would have made poor Sam quit about round 7 or 8, (something like
Clay Liston after 6). Sam would hardly have got to lay a glove on Roy.

No...Sam would hardly have to lay a glove on Roy, and he would still knock him out.

Sam is an unskilled buffoon who couldn't catch Roy on his best night out.

James Toney was a great supermiddlewt and a very good light heavy and cruiser.

The fact that he moved up and did what he did is a major accomplishment.

However, many on here, yourself included, tend to overrate the man.

He has no major accomplishments at heavywt.

Sam would have destroyed Roy if they ever fight. You have to be blind nuthugger to claim otherwise.

I don't overrate him... he is the only ATG currently active in the HW division, and has won multiple World Titles in multiple divisions (and has had some taken away)...

...unlike some here I don't relate his waist line to his accomplishments...even though his conditioning is improving.

He will go down as an ATG fighter, but he is not an ATG heavyweight, by any means.

He's not done yet. He's more serious than he has been in a while, and he's not too bad when he's fat and training at the donut shop anyways.

What are your thoughts on the video...???

Jones took a handpicked beltholder at HW fought him and moved back down to LHW because he felt that HW power was too dangerous for him. No doubt Roys's achievement at HW is definitely respectable, being only the 2nd boxer in history to make such a jump in weight. Toney achievements however, being competitive with the best HW's, stand alone and are worth extra credit. BTW, I think that Jones would have been murdered by the offensive Peter (Jones' loss to Glenn Johnson comes to my mind).

Jones loss to Johnson came AFTER he wrecked his body moving back down to face Tarver. Jones should have retired after Ruiz.

And as for Peter, Roy toyed with men far more nimble on their feet than that big elephant.

I repeat, Sam wouldn't have caught the Roy who fought Ruiz.

He would have been eating leather all night till frustration and fatigue set in and the end came.

He looked somewhat better in the video than I've seen him of late.

His speech, however, shows signs of brain damage.

And the fact remains, he does not have a signature win at heavy other than perhaps Holy, who was shot at that point.
