I got crashed into about 2 and a half years ago and it’s still affecting me. It’s not excruciating but I can’t do anything. I’m still young and I want to be active. Apparently when someone says my name I turn my head like a ten tonne truck. My girlfriend tried to mess about with me the other week with a play fight and I felt me feet move and shuffle quite quick and agile, then my neck and head was just trailing behind half an hour later haha!

I’d been toying with the idea of getting back into boxing for a while when it happened now the thought of taking a jab that snaps the head back or even heading a football with any force makes me feel sick. It’s making me feel like an old man! So depressing as I can’t do anything apart from a plodding jog which is terrible because I’ve only ever like high intensity type sport or training.

I’ve had loads of physio and nothing is really changing.

Any of you been through something similar?Did anything help? Sorry for the pathetic post haha.

    Thanks very much.

    Pretty basic advice but:

    1) See a doctor — you could be risking further injury (like even paralysis) depending on what the deal is with your neck. Don’t just walk into a gym and get hit without knowing what your situation is.

    2) If a doctor says there’s not risk of further injury, as much neck muscle stretching as you can do and maybe see a chiropractor.
