Whitaker's 2 "fights" against Ramirez were pussying against a smaller and older opponent .

Has Tua ever pussied in a fight like that ?

Definitely not the question in red, which is positively ******ed and can have no answer from anyone with neural activity.

The book comparison is utter pish mate, completely different thing altogether.

Also, I`m here because I`m a fan of great fighters, boxing today is beyond shite compared to other era`s, I`m more interested in watching boxing than reading someone else`s opinion about who was best, I`ll decide for myself.

I`m not on the classic to prove to the rest of you ****s (no offence, its a friendly word in Scotland) how much I know or don`t know, I`m on here because its the best place to learn from people that appreciate great fighters as much as myself because real boxing fans are few & far between these days.

I have admiration & respect for the achievements of the past fighters that are unfortunate to have **** or zero film footage, its just that reading about fighters & fights gives me far, far less pleasure than watching them + how many times have you read reports about a fight, then watched it yourself & thought wtf was that `expert` on ?.... exactly.

    Botswana :smoke

Its not a case of disliking old fighters, I prefer to have seen the fighters that I`m debating about... you`ll never see me write something like `Robinson would have beat Greb` but you will see me write `The Robinson that stopped Lamotta would beat any other MW I`ve ever seen`

You will also never see me put up a top 10 list without specifically mentioning that its strictly fighters I`ve seen plenty of footage of... I`m truly, truly from the bottom of my heart sorry if my criteria for ranking fighters cramped your style in the classic here, I hope I haven`t disgraced the forum & made it look amateurish, I know there is a certain standard to be met when discussing boxing with you fine lads.

That is true you do add that it's only fighters you've seen. Fair do's.

Of course you can because its a personal list, as long as the guy that made the list doesn`t try to say his list is superior or better than the other ones that contain Greb & co, there should be no problem.

In that case, Robinson gets my vote as the best fighter on film... Pea is up there as well but not any better than Duran or Ray Leonard tho... similar level.... same kinda level as SRR as well but if forced to pick I`d pick Robinson.

Whitaker is an ATG and one of the most interesting guy to watch : he was a magician in the ring. However, I wouldn't put him above guys like Louis or Robinson because of his lack of punching power (compared to them). All of them were masters at catching a guy when they saw an opening, however with Louis it meant more often than not that the other guy made his last mistake in the ring that night, while Whitaker would have to continue toying with him for the rest of the fight. Louis and Robinson were more efficient than Whitaker.

Nah, I'd take Duran and Robinson over him simply because although they were all at the highest level aggression wins rounds over defensive boxing. For example, a fight between Duran or Whitaker I'd see Duran edging many rounds due to having aggressive fighting abilities that Whitaker doesn't have.

Louis and Robinson were harder punchers than Pernell, so they looked like cold killers. But Sweet Pea had the same mentality but not the pop, he was a spiteful *******.

Also, he could crack at times. Juan Nazario was basic but he'd only been stopped once, by rock fisted Rosario. Pea iced him inside a round.

Whether Pea could hit or not he was as clinical and efficient as those guys even if he had to pile it on to force a stoppage at times. Look at the pasting he gave Hurtado.

Sweat Pea's lack of punching power is what holds him back a little bit from the very top for me. Imagine him in with someone like Hearns, if Whitaker was getting outboxed like Leonard and Benitez were, which is very possible, he wouldn't have a second gear to go in to.
