12 or 15 rounds BTW? That could well be a big factor....

My vote was for 12. Simply because it's fair and even grounds.

10 rounds, 12 rounds, or 15 rounds......it does'nt matter......Pea only knows defense, and that normally is not good enough in the pro ranks......

Duran by ugly but comfortable decision on the cards.

Whitaker just is'nt offensive minded enough to consistently execute on a round by round basis to beat the true greats of the sport!

He's a Chavez lover who doesn't like Whitaker. Hell, he even scored their fight a draw.

He's stuck in the distant past. He thinks Whitaker never matured from the mid 80's when he was young and un-polished, relying more on his physical gifts than his ring sense to deal with his opponents. How the hell can you say a fighter who routinely threw over 100 punches per round and 1,000 per fight lacked offense?

:roll:Oh well; as Eric Idle said, there's one born every minute. Or 3 in the case of the Chavez fight.

Know one in their right mind would dispute what an (Unapprieciated) fistic genieus pea is, but it's border line certifiable 2 think that he could keep a rampant Duran off him over 15 & walk away unscathed, this ai'nt Chavez he's in with, Pea cops the lot, he'll be bruised & battered from the ankles up:cool:

Also as you've said he throws 100+ a round yeh! Well then, i suppose he'll be doing that on the retreat then just hoping 2 keep Duran away eh:think

If he attemps 2 try & impose his will he's as good as KO'd, as i asked in my earlier post, please enlighten me 2 pea's battle or SURVIVAL PLAN + take into account that Duran won't just be stood there pickin his nose:smoke

Viruet only just managed to survive Duran? What rubbish. Viruet was in no danger of not finishing either fight and started to give almost as good as he got in the last half of both fights. Viruet was one tough son of a *****, even though his offense was pretty shitty.

On Whitaker-Duran. I like a Duran close points win. Suggesting Whitaker would have no offense and only knows defense as Vlade does is of course, garbage. No doubt he'll come back and tell us Whitaker never sat down on any of his punches and so even if Chavez's head was bouncing off his shoulders every time Pea popped him, 1 of Chavez's punches = 3 of Whitaker's :good

Enlighten myself on how Duran uses Whitaker as a punching bag? Whitaker goes down as one of the best defensive and purest boxers ever to lace'em up. Trust me, Duran finds Whitaker a handful. Not with power and strength, but with defense, style, precision, awkwardness, and boxing ability. Lets not forget, Whitaker was a durable little SOB. Duran doesn't have the power to knock him out. It would need to accumulation over a period of time, and IMO that aint happening.

A prime 147lb Trinidad, who punched harder than Duran at any weight, hit a completely shot Whitaker with no less than the kitchen sink and couldn't move him. I agree that Duran would win but it would be a difficult night for him to say the least.

To be fair, Trinidad did drop Whitaker.
