How do these two defensive wizards fare against each other in said weight classes?

Normaly I'd pick a great tall guy over a great short guy, but not here.
First of all being tall usualy means having long arms but at 5′ 10″ Benitez is built like a T-Rex with 70" arms. While he is much taller than the 5' 6" Whitaker he only has an inch of reach on him.
In terms of what each man can do in the ring. Very few have ever been better than Benitez and fewer have been better than Whatiker.
If you look at their big fight experance Whitaker has done better in big fights.
I don't think it makes a diffrance rather the fight is at 140, 147 or 154.
My opinion is that Whitaker would beat Benitez at any weight.

pretty much what I think, but still at 140 it is pickem. Benitez and Sweet Pea might be a very boring fight. Interesting but not much action.

I'd go with Benitez confidently at all three weights.

Too tough to call. I'd probably pick Whitaker, in that during his prime years he never really lost. I guess I kind of see it as one being great (Benitez) and the other super great (Whitaker).

Hm, I think Whitaker beeing more busy - of hand and foot - and a southpaw wins him the fight at 140. At the higher weights, Whitaker tended to stand more in the pocket and that“s Benitez“game, his higher workrate would mean there that Benitez would counter him more.

whitaker in all 3 , just a better all round fighter although with the weight the scores would be closer as whittaker went up in weight

    eg: 117-111 at 140 , 116-112 at 147 , 115-113 at 154

I'm taking Benitez at all three weights. Benitez has the edge in reach, which is the tiebreaker here, as these two are otherwise evenly matched.

Whitaker would stay on his chest and grind him out at 140 and maybe even 147 too, but not at 154.

At 140 i like WHittaker over super talented but less experienced Benitez..Close but convinicing decision.

at 147 Like Benitez by razor close decision.

At Jm Ill definitely take Benitez.. WHittaker is in it and,but i like Benitez either 9-6 or 7-4-1 decision.

His edge in reach is not enough to make a diffrnce.
