One thing to remember is , Whitaker, while being a counter puncher, was also comfortable being the aggressor. Don't let his low KO ratio fool ya, he could hit. Sweet Pea just used his talents in slipping, dodging, and returning fire more since he was light years above most. I think Floyd's different mindset and strategy vs. southpaws would be his downfall vs. Pea. Call it a toss up if you want, a 50-50, but I think Pernell would win a somewhat close UD. Ever since moving up, Floyd's worst moments have come when he's taken off his rhythm. Hatton, Judah, DLH...all had some success, to a degree, in doing that. And I think Whitaker's comfort at settin the pace, along with his ring smart, would do it.

You're a ****in *****, what do we expect from you. :patsch

Pressing the action? Do you even watch Floyd fight? No, **** that, watch some whitaker FFS! Floyd's best bet would not to press the action, but to slow it down more. Keep pernell's guard up and in caution. Pick his shots and try to back Whitaker up. And rely on his stronger punch to keep whitaker honest and less aggressive. This isn't me saying Floyd cannot win, but Whitaker has done more on his level and to stay in his game against better foes then Floyd has. So...GFY...

There's no doubt this would be the case for a moment or two. Their competitiveness all but guarantees that some exchanges would occur.

When two personalities like that collide with the bravado and the im better than everyone else type of mentality...sparks will fly.

I think both have a huge competitve spirit and they have huge wills to win, would be an exciting fight to me...i could see a draw but i also can see a close UD for either one even a split decision...this fight could go a number of ways...except KO....i just dont see that one in the cards.

It's a no contest with Sweetpea taking Floyd to school in style:yep

    Master & pretender:deal

Mayweather will think he's being raped by an octopus & only a *****sexual could be dumb enough to imagine that Mayweather stands any sort of chance against the real genuine article in Whitaker:deal

Pernell is too fast too slick & just a better all round craftsman & Mayweather is tailor-made for Whitaker & Mayweathers going to think he has treble vision such will be the master class pernell will put on him:bbb

Mayweather will shrink into his shell after 2 rounds when he is compleatly bamboozled by Pernells defensive & counter punching craft & Floyds shoulder role & attempted punch picking will see him shredded by pea's superior speed & guile:yep

I'd be supprised if Mayweather even throws a punch after 4 rounds such will be his paranoia about from where the next direction the blizzard of punches will hit him from. Whitaker will humiliate Mayweather.

    Man & Boy.:yep

    MASTER & pretender:deal:deal

its not even close. ODLH wasn't even a 4th of what he was when he fought Floyd

not a fair assesment really....how do you think Pea would fair at 154 considering he used more reflexes and speed in his defense than Floyd probaly ever will do.

Floyd vs Oscar at lets say 135 i think is still as competitive as Sweet Pea vs Oscar

I think everyone will agree that Whitaker is a WAY better defensive boxer than Floyd. THrow in the mix that he's a southpaw. He'd give floyd trouble all night. And would make floyd look stupid in the process.

One of THE few boxers that makes floyd look silly.

Let's have it right here, pea is a proven elite atg.

He's a top ten in both lightweight and welterweight imo.

It would be pea pressing the action, he once landed over 500 punches in a fight, floyd doesn't even throw that many.

Floyd would have to rely on his jab to slow the pace down, he'd have to make pea miss and frustrate him into clowning and hope he gives rounds away.

Then again we might see floyd evolve into a more offensive beast as his age catches up with him, his next few fights will tell us a lot about floyd as an aggressive welterweight.

Sweet Pea could do everything Floyd could except better. Plus being a southpaw would give him an advantage over Floyd. Whitaker by UD.

    Whitaker would beat Floyd imo.

Whitaker would get Mayweather out of his comfort zone, which is the key to beating Mayweather, to make him more aggressive. Why would he get Mayweather out of his comfort zone? Simple, he's a southpaw.

In a Boxing match, where its a slow tempo, what happened against Judah would start to happen, Mayweather would start to get out-boxed, then he would resort to being more aggressive, like he was against Judah, and that is where Whitaker would win the fight imo, he would make Mayweather fight his fight and get him out of his envelope.

Whitaker is a much better counter puncher than Judah, he's also a more consistent counter puncher, he was also a master at making you dance to his tune when he had you fighting his fight.
