Whitaker by a mile on both accounts. A clearly superior fighter and a much more impressive career, which is no slight on Floyd, he's simply outmatched in this comparison. Pernell fits comfortably inside my top 25 all time and could even be argued inside the top 20, and he is - at worst - the 3rd or 4th best fighter I've seen in all of boxing history.
It always makes me laugh when people put down what each judges scorecards would be. It's so pointlessly ******ed.
Whitaker is the master craftsman & floyd a mere 1st year apprentice in comparison & Floyd who'd appear paralysed such is the depth of disparity in all round skills & it would be a "Taken to school" ass spanking:deal
Let the hate keep coming its crazy Money has been at the top so long people just cant stand it.Look at his skills people in the ring he is one of the best ever. One of you experts rate ther ring skills see what you come up with this is not about who you like but who iis the best boxer of the 2.
Not really...your talking about a fighter who started practicing the craft at 2-3....even if it was just putting on gloves and running around the house...not to mention there hasn't been a fighter to go undefeated, while beating 18 world champs, and never got knocked down from a punch...ever...You act like Floyd's "0" is that of JCC Jr "0." Check the rankings of Floyds opponents...At 130 he fought the top guys in the division. At 135 he fought the best x2. At 140 Gatti was ranked #1. At 147 Carlos Baldomir was the lineal champ, Mosley was the #3 in the world and #1 WW. At 154, Oscar was far better than any fighter there at the time. Please do your homework before you post..makes u look like you just blabber **** out, because you don't like a certain fighter.:deal
Whitaker would beat floyd H2H IMO. But on ATG rankings, I;ll expect to see floyd be ranked higher due to beng better marketed. Which counts for a hell of a lot in ATG ranking IMO.
Dumb dumbs like Chavez, Nelson and McGirt??? patsch Whitaker takes this, and is the higher ranked ATG.
No he's not. I've seen well put together lists that don't feature Mayweather or Pacquiao in the top 50. And no, I'm not talking Bert Sugar. If people are going to make these statements, they need to come up with lists. I don't play that "he's top 30-35 game." How the **** do you get it down to a numerical value like that? Show me the list then, people.
ESPN too....So does the WBC, WBA, WBO, or IBF have better rankings? Gatti was coming off 5 wins at 140...one, over an undefeated Branco and Dorin, 2 over Ward, and one over Leija. He wasn't prime or anything like that..but it is what it is...I would put him top 3 in the division easy.
