Tito has absolutely no chance because Whitaker represents his literal stylistic cryptonite, as well as being much better anyway.
Whitaker is too polished and slick. jab causes tito trouble and movement keeps tito off balance. As the fight goes into the later rounds, it gets easier for whitaker because tito starts to reach. Tito never quits but loses a lopsided decision.
Trinidad's physical advantages (height, reach, punching power, strength) make it difficult for Whitaker even when he's at his welterweight best. Whitaker was always a small lightweight, let alone welterweight, and moving in on Trinidad and getting off scoring shots will be problematic against such a dangerous fighter. The Whitaker that faced Chavez is probably sharp enough to evade Tito's most dangerous shots and get off some quick combinations and inside body work, but I suspect that even that Whitaker would be bullied around for some rounds, losing about 4, with a couple of those potentially being two point rounds for Tito.
I agre with this. Pound for pound, its not close, Whitaker wins. Byt at 147, Tito has the size advantage, and was not slow handed. He would hurt Whitaker, who would then do defensive for the fight. Trinidad 116-111, with a Knockdown. Keith
Wilfredo Rivera gave Pea 2 tough fights, Tito is better (than WR) but I can't bring myself to tip against Pea so Whitaker W 12. 7-5 rds.
The Whitaker who lost his legs and reflexs and decided he needed to walk Tito down because of that didn't do a bad job. A Whitaker on the move, sticking and moving and countering schools Tito
Pea dominates in on of them one sided sparring sessions type fights that would lead people to believe tito is absolute dog ****.
I agree with Sweet as well.It wouldn't be an overly easy fight imo. Mainly because while he's much greater P4P, Pea lost a lot physically at 147 whereas Tito was an imposing rangey force. Some of Tito's main flaws like chin and legs wouldn't be an issue here and Pea was no overt mover at 147. Still, as long as it's not the one that was rapidly losing dedication and sharpness against Jacobs, Rivera ...he'll probably old man Tito and thoroughly out-ring general him.Winning about 8-4 but where Tito's physical advantages keep him frown being shut out\schooled like he would be if all things were equal.
