i dont care how many times its been done duran didnt like movers and good defence fighters, sweet pea would of made duran quit quicker than learnard did
Been a while since i watched this fight, just look at the ring generalship. A proper versatile boxer, when in front of a stationary man or a 'slow starter', sets them up with offense and jabs, how Whitaker does there, rather than play the waiting game. Quality, forgot how sharp he was in this one.
I think Im in the minority here but I rank that as the best Whitaker masterclass regardless of opponent (Ramirez was a decent fighter actually, just not on that night) I watch that regularly. Beautiful.
I might agree, though like Robbi has just pointed out it has it's contender (s?), purely on performance.
I was being sarcastic, obviously it was Whitaker being that good that = Ramirez having a bad night :good
Whitaker-Ramirez II was like a public shaming ceremony. Ramirez walked into Whitaker's home town and got mocked and humiliated in front of all of Whitaker's friends. A lesser man would have quit, but Jose stuck to it and saw it out, even though he wasn't making any headway and continued to get schooled to the very end.
