Had this taken place in the 90s, who do you think would have won?

Youd have to favor Foreman but if the fight wasnt fixed in his favor I could easily see Botha doing a Tommy Morrison on him.

I see two possible outcomes in this... Either a Foreman KO, Botha was always chinny and could be hit. Or a Botha decision. Botha could definitely smother George and beat him purely on volume if he could avoid the power. Definitely an intriguing matchup, shame it never happened.

I have to go with Botha. He had a pretty good comfort level in the ring. Foreman had better success against guys who needed to develop more as pros, like Savarese and Briggs. This could end exactly like the Moorer-Foreman fight, but I think Francois probably takes a decision.

"In the 90's" is not specific enough. Both varied over the decade. In general, Francois' affinity for brawling (when he actually a good boxer) has a big chance of costing him. A more disciplined approach might enable him to "pull a Morrison"...

Botha was a poor mans Morrison, Morrison was faster, more athletic, had more power, and faced way better opposition, it took Morrison on his best night to beat the old man, sorry Botha wouldn't be able to beat George..

George knocks him out in 9 rounds...

Foreman knocks him out cold, just like Tyson did.

Who knows Foreman in the 90s was inconsistent. I could see Botha out boxing him to a decision.

Botha was making Tyson look silly for the first 4 rounds. Foreman is slower and clumsier throwing telegraphed punches. He had a phenomenal jab though. I could see Foreman catching him cold but I could also easily see Botha pull a Morrison, Botha had the mobility to do that. Hard fight to pick.

Outside of their apparent complexion (remember that Tommy was half Arapaho) they had very, very little in common.

In fact, I think I would take a prime Botha over Tommy.

Which fights of George's do you reckon were fixed?

I've heard you claim that Arum admitted under oath to fixing some of his bouts but a quick bit of internet searching revealed that to be utter bull****. He said he paid/bribed Bobby Lee money for the IBF to rank Axel Schultz to enable him to meet George (giving George a supposedly easy defense) for a portion of the title but said nothing about fixing any results in George's favour.

So again which fights of Foreman's second career were fixed and what evidence do you have to support this?

Foreman's jab would be the big weapon for him here. Botha was decent, but could be relied on to lose when it most mattered.

He'd keep away from Big George for a while, until George catches up to him. I don't think Botha has enough to his game to beat George, any 90's version.

What a joke of a thread. Botha vs the legendary George Foreman in his prime. Foreman makes botha crap himself at just the weigh in
