Hi everyone, I boxed ameteur as a teenager with a record of 21-7, now Im doing white collar boxing in the UK, So far my white collar record is 1-1, I lost my first fight and won my second last Sunday. My next fight is on July 10th so I will keep a log of all my training on here. Im going on holiday this weekend so there will be an early break, not ideal but I will try to make it up when I get back ! Any advice on what I should be doing or should not be doing is welcome. Tuesday 1st June 5am 6 miles roadwork 7pm Boxing gym: 3 x 2mins shadow 5 x 2mins heavy bag 4 mins skipping 2 mins situps 2 mins push ups non stop straight punches on the bag 30 seconds, 30 seconds, 20 seconds, 20 seconds, 10 seconds, 10 seconds. Wednesday 2nd June 40 minutes crosstrainer (level 16 random) 12 mins bike (level 12-20 random) I like the random setting on cardio machines as it keeps the heart rate going up and down, also when doing roadwork I speed up and slow down between lamp posts, bins etc.
White collar is unlicenced boxing basically, although it is starting to get regulated more now. There are some area titles to be won and stuff like that. There are some good ex ameteurs doing it so there are some pretty good bouts, and some really novice ones too. Im never going to win ameteur titles and turn pro now so its the best option to keep fit and box. Also you get paid a little bit for it.
Wednesday 3rd June 7pm Boxing gym: 4 x 2 mins shadow 5 x 2 mins heavy bag 2 x 2 mins sparring 3 x 2 mins grid sprints 7 mins skipping Sparring went quite well this evening, I did a round with my trainer who is an ex pro heavyweight and a round with my mate whos a pretty good light heavyweight. My hand speed is feeling nice and sharp at the moment but Im still eating a few too many jabs. Need to work on my head movement ! Im a light middle/middleweight btw. Im about 162lbs at the moment.
Tuesday 8th june Back from my holiday (vacation). 33 days till fight night so its nose down from now till the 10th. 8am: 7 miles roadwork
5am: 5 miles roadwork 7pm: 3x2mins shadow boxing 3x2mins sparring 4x2 mins heavy bag 2 mins situps 2 mins press ups 2 mins dips
Sunday june 13th: 40mins cross trainer (level 16 random program) 5x2mins heavy bag 2 mins skipping 2 mins situps 15 mins bike
Monday June 14th: 30 mins cross trainer (level 16 random program) 4x2mins heavy bag 2x2mins maize bag 2x2mins shadow boxing with weights 2 mins situps
Tuesday 15th June: 5x2mins shadow boxing 3x2mins sparring 2x2mins heavy bag 2x2mins pads 2x2mins skipping 2x2mins situps 2mins leg raises 10mins warm down/press ups/situps/burpees etc
Thursday 17th July: 5x2mins shadow boxing 6x200m sprints 2x2mins pads 2x2mins heavy bag 2x2mins situps 2mins leg raises/dips 5 minutes warm down
Sunday 20th june: 30mins cross trainer (level 16 random program) 5x2mins heavy bag 3x2mins maize bag 2x2mins shadow boxing with weights 2x2mins skipping 2x2mins grid sprints+burpees 2mins situps
