    Hi all,

Just making my first forrays into white collar boxing. Spent a lot of time boxing when i was still serving in the British Army however i've been out for nearly 18 months now and just turned 30. Dont particularly fancy ABA now so im going down the white collar route, now that its run and organised a lot better than when it first surfaced. What i'd like to ask is, i already have a pair of Rival (RB1) Ultra Bag Gloves, 12oz. Are these going to be ok for bag and pad work? I only ask as, i know i'll be competing in 16oz gloves (as in most white collar bouts i've heard of) so was wondering if i'd have been better served just training, sparring and competing using 16oz gloves period, i.e using the heavier gloves all the time.
My main concern is regarding the set in of fatigue, if im using the 12oz Rivals for bag and pad work, but sparring AND competing in 16oz gloves, then surely this is going to have a negative effect? I could be wrong so a heads up would be good. Only ever used to use 16oz or 18oz gloves during sparring (when boxing ABA in the army).

Anyone here involved in white collar? If so do you still use 12oz (or lighter) gloves for bag/pad work despite the fact they compete using 16oz gloves?

    Any advice appreciated.

    Morti

I would train in equal to or greater than what I fought in. Too many issues could come into play if you do otherwise.
