So because my parents weren't related, I can actually remember back to April 2022, and there was a LOT of talk about Fury fighting Whyte completely in southpaw akin to Chisora 2. This was because Whyte and Chisora are exactly the same fighter because they're both bald and black. Or at least that's what the mainstream boxing media tells me So Whyte instead comes out in southpaw. That's all there is to it
Full disclosure: I was baked watching that fight. That ringwalk was up there with the GOAT ringwalks when Tyson and his entourage started running to the ring. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that won't be topped in my lifetime. I was fully buzzing and on cloud nine by the first bell, properly amped up to the GILLS. Timestamped for posterity. This content is protected Then fcking whyteleafe comes out round one southpaw I'm speechless. Edge of my seat, what am I watching? I honestly thought I was watching some sort of genius masterclass from fcking whyteleafe for a few minutes, then I kind of sobered up and was back in the room and realised he was a fcking useless plodder. The end.
I have to agree, that was some entrance, the part when Fury is running and Whytes team saying hes coming hes coming told me then he was going to lose, they were crapping it. But yeah that ring walk will take some beating, i sent it to my wife a while ago and she said she thought she was watching the start of a film!! Women...
It was just a bizarre fight. We all knew Fury would win easily but Whyte carried about as much threat as Tom Schwartz. He sulked through the contract negotiations. Then he sulked and didn't turn up to the press conferences. He sulked at the weigh in. He sulked during the ring walk and then he stunk up the place for 8 rounds before getting KOd. And then he sulked afterwards because "Tyson pushed me" lol. I don't mind Whyte but he was a tosser last year. Spoiled it for everyone including himself.
I thought that he wants to take both jabs out of the equation so there are more power shots flying around. I was wrong. Whyte does crossguard now, apparently.
Fury was in his head and Whyte was overthinking it, perhaps because Fury had schooled him in sparring as a southpaw years prior. Whyte has fought no southpaws of note and blatantly ducked Wallin, it's likely a weakness of his. So Whyte thought he could take the play away from Fury and confuse him by going southpaw. Whyte had zero success, took a couple of right hands in the first round and realised he should switch back to his natural orthodox stance, which did him no good either.
i do know it is whyte sometimes i am flying around the forum here talking to people in different sections put wrong spelling i have spelt it right most of the time mate
