Neither get to 49-0. Hide wasn’t all that and Spinks wouldn’t make it past Charles or Moore. Spinks despite his couple of solid wins actually has a rather slim resume.
I guess you can set whatever parameters u want ur thread lol

I agree Hide doesn't, but stylistically Spinks vs Moore would be a Spinks win imo, also that version of Charles (or tbh any version of HW Charles) isn't good enough to beat Spinks imo.

I think Archie is in a whole other league above Spinks. Just my opinion. Archie has a lot more wins at HW then Spinks does a lot more. But to each their own I get it Spinks was a good fighter. The Charles matchup intrigued me the most...wild be interesting. I’d pick him over Walcott and Layne based on his style.

And we must take our hat off to him for doing it. Rocky fought everyone whom Weill selected .
I firmly believe he would not have jibbed at facing any man.
Whether he would have been successful against some of them is a thread for another day.

    Plenty of people did.

It isn't even that easy a run for a start.

He was matched against people who were supposed to beat him in some of his early fights, and only given easy matches when his potential was finally recognized.

This is rare in an ATG of the post war era.

His title reign was almost picture perfect, with all but one of his challengers being the current #1 Ring Magazine contender.

It would literally be impossible to match this today!

So you have to ask the obvious question, why couldn't anybody else do it?

Plenty of people would beat everyone that Marciano beat over 8 years from the start of their careers

How about Juan Carlos Gomez? If nobody chins him, why not?

Literally hundreds to top fighters have had the chance to replicate the feat, under more or less as favorable conditions.

Nobody ever has, except Floyd Mayweather.

Saying that plenty of people could have done it, without any sort of justification, simply doesn't cut it!

People say Marcinos opponents were not good. But he was coming up with no experience so could have easily picked up a loss.

Marciano 6 best wins are pretty good imo compared to a lot of atg heavyweights. Ezzard x2 walcottx2 and Moore, Louis.

For instance Lewis has Vitali, Holyfield, Tyson, Tua, Mercer, Rahman. Not as good imo

Solid point on the no experience. Think many people forget or don’t know Marciano had barely any amateur bouts and when he started really had little to no training (believe he had a book on boxing his friend Allie read with him lol). Fact that he didn’t pick up several losses was a feat itself. Back then like today nobody had any faith in him when he started because he was already 24 only 5”10 with a pathetic 68 inch reach (or 67 depending on who u ask). Took him winning his first ten bouts I think before Goldman even paid him any mind
