On the contrary, this forum always picks Tyson over Louis.
    Much to my dismay.

Louis beats Tyson and Ali in my opinion anyway.
Louis would pick Tyson apart and bomb him out as he comes in.
Louis would stalk Ali down, outbox him with jab and body work and get him down the stretch.

I am with you completely on Tyson...not sure on Ali. Though I think an Ali-Louis fight would be AMAZING to watch!!!

I think prime Louis would have the attributes to beat prime Ali in a similar way to how Norton (who was trained by Futch, who was of the same old school as Louis, of course) beat past prime Ali. The jab and body punches would be key.
But I'm not at all sure of it. It would be a close fight either way.

It really depends, you can make the same thread on 3 different days and you’ll get a different favorite for each one. Also there’s no way Louis would beat Tyson. Tyson had quicker feet, can match him in speed, better defense, stronger chin, and hit harder. Tyson was also an accurate puncher I wouldn’t even pick Louis to see the first half of the fight.

I think Ali dances circles around Louis and I love Louis and dislike Ali

Whats your five most durable fellows Joe Louis stopped? Fighters that had never been stopped before or maybe at all?
Comparable to Chuvalo, Frazier, Norton, Thomas, Berbick, Tubbs and Holmes.

No to all of those, except matching him in speed.

Are you trying to find an excuse to rate Jose Luis Garcia and Bernardo Mercado above Louis as KO artists ??

He defeated a lot of durable fighters.
    Knocked them out.
Guys like Max Baer, Arturo Godoy, Tami Mauriello, Bob Pastor, Jimmy Braddock, Paolino Uzcudun, Tony Galento, John Henry Lewis.

I'd rather see Louis/Tyson or Louis/Foreman. Regardless of the outcome, someone gets slept.

I´d ask the question for the top 5 durable fellows Louis stopped to compare it with Tyson and Foreman.

So do you think Max Baer, Arturo Godoy, Tami Mauriello, Bob Pastor, Jimmy Braddock, Paolino Uzcudun, Tony Galento, John Henry Lewis are the most durable Louis defeated?

Louis was not as good defensively, in foot speed, in chin, or power
