Angelo Dundee because he let his fighters be the best versions of themselves. That's why he could be in Ali's corner when he whupped Foreman and be in Foreman's corner when he whupped Moore.

Dundee had a huge ego, Teddy Atlas sized, and if ripping gloves and cheating were his main contributions to the careers of 2 ATGs, idk. I think Jimmy Ellis is probably the best credit to his training acumen. He did a great job with Ellis and turned him into a WBA champ from a joruneyman. I think Angelo is up there, but I think he has been overrated for so long that he was due for a corrective swing in the other direction. Kind of like Roach.

Not many trainers could of land a guy like Rocky Marciano to the promise land (Never mind the record(. So Goldman has to be near the top. I mean guys like Ali and Louis had the right body build to be great. But you look at this small T-Rex fighter and you really have to think outside the box.

    Eddie Futch & Manny Steward
I remember an interview with Eddie Futch & others discussing boxing. The interviewer who's name I don't recall Turned to Eddie & said " You are a boxing expert Eddie what do you think "? Eddie grinned & said " Me an expert Nah I'm no expert I'm still learning the game". LOL Eddie was in his 80 's then still sharp as a tack

Dundee had a huge ego, why ?

It isn´t wrong to call it cheating I guess, but...... this is the real life, you are right in being against cheating of course, but let´s get real here, if you don´t do it, the other guy will. All the greats used things outside the book of rules eeeevery fight...

Maybe Henry Cooper didn´t do no cheating (british fighters are indeed clean and brits are very honest people, look at how they see diving to gain a penalty kick, they are right in that) but other Ali´s opponents did it, Dundee helped his guy. If the referee don´t call it, blame the referee first.

I thought he was a liability as a corner man,and George Benton did the training for that stable.

Manny Steward. He was so aware of all the facets of the sport. I remember he even told Tommy don't have his normal day of the fight haircut when he fought Ray in the rematch because maybe the shock or impact on his body might weaken him.

I saw a YouTube poll today that had Cus as number 1 and it wasn’t close. I mean, I’m not an expert but I was surprised at that high a ranking. I guess it’s the Tyson association?

The standards for the time I really followed boxing were Futch, Steward, Dundee, & Arcel. I thought Benton was really good too.
