Foreman still hit HARD but he was a totally different animal in the 70's. Butler puncher huge.

Wilder hovers between 215-220 so I'm not so hung up on the size issue as some. It's true though that his comeback gives us a lot more information on how hard he hit in a cross-generational sense.

I rate Liston as a puncher as well, and he mostly fought smallish guys. Sometimes it just comes down to the eye test.

Yes, average. He looks like he punches no harder than Marco Huck in some fights.

    Yes I would.

Pat did better job covering himself than Ruiz, besides Tua really hurt Ruiz with his first hook, Baer didn't land as cleanly here.
You wanted me to find you a fight where Baer destroyed big and good fighter in one round. I found. I'd say that Tua's stoppage looks more terrifying, but let's not exaggerate it - there are more impressive KOs in HW division history even if not as fast.

Even the greatest punchers looks only decent in some fights. I can bring up Tua performance vs Ike when he landed on him many, many times and he didn't stagger him even once. Or against Lewis when his mythical power didn't give him anything. I wouldn't say that though, because boxing isn't as easy as "hit him cleanly and he's done".

Baer from Levinsky, Schmeling, Foord, Comiskey, Carnera and Galento fights looks like a monster puncher.

Frazier and Marciano were far better finishers than Baer was because he swung wildly with his shots.

It was because Baer`s shots were wider and Tua hurt Ruiz so bad with the first punch that caught him, Pat was in better shape after he was dropped with the right hand, Ruiz was all over the place after the first shot put him in trouble.

Foreman`s biceps looked bigger than Baer`s did and he missed less shots, Baer`s punches were wild swings a lot of the punches he landed didn`t have snap because his timing was bad, every now and then his wild swings would land flush and have more snap, Foreman would knock far more people if he was young today than if Baer was in his prime now, I feel if Baer dropped Frazier, Joe could easily recover and come back to stop him.

Baer did look a lot slimmer than George.

Wilder`s punches have more of a dramatic effect on his KO victims than Foreman`s punches did on the likes of the small Frazier and chinny Norton, Shavers KO over Norton was more devastating than Foreman`s, Norton couldn`t get off the floor, he was out cold.

It was a good shot, but the guy getting KO`d looks like a modern cruiser and it`s speeded up.

Tua`s punches were tight hooks, he through better combo`s on the inside than Max, who threw really wide hooks.

Yes but bigger fighters punch harder than smaller fighters, which is why there are weight divisions.
