toney failed to beat elite guys, but he beat good guys, and Mayweather never fought anyone.. Toney was better in my mind, but neither great.

    Is this is a joke?

    - Toney fought over 20 years and has over 80 fights. How many years and fights did PBF fight?

    - Toney fought the elite from middleweight to heavyweight.Who ever did that? Much bigger jump than superfeatherweight to welterweight. Do you see PBF beating Pablik, he does not even face the elite welterweight.

    - Toney has the better resume.

    - Jirov (undeafeated champ and number one in the didvision)
    - Nunn (undeated champ and number one guy in the division)
    - McCallum (number guy and only one avenged)
    - HOF Iran Barkley
    - Wliilams (former lighheavyweight champ)
-Reggie Johnson (2 division and undeafeated)
    - Holyfield) (number 5 giy by ring the time they fought)
-draw Rahman, Oquendo, Guinn, Sam Peter (good fight)
    ...

I agree. The O does not count much if you retire that early. When you face the best over a long period of time, you gonna lose sooner or later. It happened to the beat SRR and Ali. It is part of the game.

Toney was a 3 to 1 underdog against Holyfield (number 5 by the Ring at the time). Toney became the second man to KO the guy. And also, Holy beat at 45 Wba champ Valuev.

Better resume, longer career, fighting from middleweight to heavyweight, willing to face the best throughout his career.Toney has always been a REAL THROWBACKFIGHTER and not a BUSINESSMAN.

    NOT A BETTER RESUME
FIGHTING FROM SUPER FEATERWEIGHT TO LIGHTMIDDLEWEIGHT BEATS MIDDLE TO HEAVY WHEN HIS HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE WAS THE IBA ????and Floyd was a country mile above anyone at 130 and 135. Toney was only really dominant at Middleweight yet it can be said that if Jones had fought him there he would have beat him since he stepped up to fight him at Super Middle and beat him in his first fight at the weight. He was also beat at Light hevy by Griffin. There is also a case to say that Floyd could have been dominant at Light/Welter if he'd have took the Tsyzu fight. It's seriously not even close

    - He was not a country mile above Castillo and he did not fight the elite welterweights.

    - Light middlweight and PBF?
He had one fight against a superfeatherweight at a CATCH WEIGHT.

    - Many think that Toney won twice against Griffin and many think that PBF lost against Castillo.

    - Right, Toney was kind of inconsistant and never really dominated a weight class, but fight hard punching heavyweights in his LATE 30's while starting out as a middlweight and his better resume, longer career give him the edge over PBF.

Right now, Toney ranks between 60-80 and PBF between 80-100.

If Tooneyx win another title at heavyweight he will get into the TOP50

Its you opinion and i respect your knowledge but i feel I must point out a few things
It was not at a catch weight since the light middleweight title was on the line. Cant disagree with that ?
Was he not a country mile above Castillo in his second fight a fight which Floyd demanded straight away to silence his critics and prove that it was an off night?
Whilst many have their opinions above JonesvsGriffin /Floyd/Castillo 1 the facts are that Griffin won as did Floyd. In fact on judge had Griffim winning by the margin of 10/2 and the other two by margin of 8/5.
also I never tried to use Floyd's reign at welter to his credit as I agree he's avoided the best there

Of course lists like these are always gonna be highly subjective. I think we can agree that both are AGT and certainly don't rank miles apart.

It depends on the criterias: I rank longivity and Toney' s exceptional run from 160 to heavy higher than PBF consistency and dominance in different weight classes .Also, I do not rank a loss here and there not that high especially when you have fought as often as Toney but of course I understand when you think that the Griffin and Thadzi fights hurt JT's legacy.
