He definitely has a chance, a small one albeit, his power is a great equalizer. Usyk needs some pop at heavyweight to make some guys respect him. He definitely has a better skill set than anyone in the HW division by far. But, if he can't get respect, some guys like AJ and Wilder will just try and walk him down, or in Wilder's case a barrage of windmilling punches, and who knows if Usyk will be able to take a punch from those guys.

He's fighting Fury for the UK ppv. Nothing else.

Stop moving the goal line! Some were saying Wilder would never fight Fury. If you've been around this site, you know this to be true. Now that the fight is made, you try to critisize him by making foolish statements, like Wilder is only fighting Fury for the money. LOL What, Wilder needs to fight for free to prove a point to jokers like you? SMFH

Usyk would have started at heavyweight if he could compete there. If he moves up and wins a title that’s seriously impressive I think he’s tiny for a heavyweight

This fight is fight is all about a payday first. The fact Fury might be shot to bits is what lured Wilder in plus his one and only career ppv.

Gotta keep'em honest! Again, if you've been coming to this site awhile, you know some were saying that Fury could come straight back without a tune up and whoop Wilder. Now the fight is made and suddenly Fury is washed up? You guys are so transparent it's laughable. I see right through you! If Wilder beats Fury, you can say Fury was washed up, giving little to no credit to Wilder for the win. If, on the otherhand, Fury wins, you can say Wilder lost to a washed up Fury.

I generally dislike Wilder. I think he's overrated.

But I do raise my hand to this thread. I find it weird that the sentiment on this site might find doing so weird.

So a fighter that has had not one fight against a Heavy, even a poor one, will go straight at a athletic freak who is a legitimate champ with 40 ko's on his record..............

But I like this Wilder is a bum talk....if he starches Fury and AJ both got beat by a bum /fraud....what is that going to make them, triple bums ?

With his power he always has a chance. I'd still bet on Usyk though.

Unless Usyk suffers a catastrophic loss that breaks his confidence or loses his punch resistance in a gruelling war then I'll always have him as favourite over Wilder.

Wilder's height and reach would be more of an advantage if he had the remotest idea of how to use it, but he's been in too many wars with mediocre guys to show that to be the case. He's not someone who uses his jab and footwork to keep shorter opponents from closing distance. He doesn't have the mindset to do that or the skills and intelligence to pull it off. His fight against Szpilka showed he'd have major problems with a fighter like Usyk, who'd feint him into opening himself up with wild swings that wouldn't land, or have him second guessing himself at what Usyk was going to do next.

It's unrealistic to just expect Wilder to walk Usyk down and bomb him out. That's not how he fights, and Usyk's power would be enough to dissuade him from that foolish tactic if he tried to employ it, the way Ward's and Mayweather's power was enough to control their opponents without necessarily hurting them enough to put them down.

Fighters like Usyk who attack with speed, high workrate and multiple angles of attack do more than just hurt fighters -- they break their rhythm, break their confidence, wreak havoc on their spatial awareness and destroy their ability to think straight and execute moves that they've practised a thousand times in the gym and maybe even employed successfully against multiple world-class opponents in the ring.

It's easy to think that fighters with sufficient toughness to not get KO'ed by incoming shots can just mindlessly walk a smaller fighter down but that's not the case. Even if a punch doesn't hurt you (and in reality there is no such punch) the sheer force of it effects changes that may be minute but can mean the difference between a landed punch and a missed or glancing one. Add those up over the course of a fight and the effects are vastly magnified.

K2 Promotions, or else Usyk would have moved up to heavyweight the moment Wilder won the title.

In spite of his lack of wins over elite opposition, writing Wilder off against any current HW/CW, proven or otherwise, hints at a lack of wisdom.

Usyk would thrash Wilder and embarrass him thoroughly
