Who actually goes to watch boxing here?

I prefer watching boxing on TV but I'll make an exception for something big. I have no interest in going to watch small hall shows which only have one decent fight on the card, just because it's a boxing event.

 

in my area there are no small show fights. but i venture out for fighters me and my boys follow.

 

I go but i go to quality rather then quantity i've sat through many a 12 bout night and been willing for it to end. I prefer 6 good fights on paper and if they don't deliver so be it but the quality of fighters normally helps it be at least entertaining.

Small Hall shows do need us though and over past few years the level of profressionalism and quality has risen and i'm looking to go to the better quality cards. Such as Goodwin and Helliet and i'd hope we all would get out to shows and support our sport. But tough economic times mean people are tighter with there £30-£40 quid which is understandable. But if you can, do it :deal.

 

i go to alot of first team promotions shows wolvo, dudley, walsall errol and pj put some good shows on. also been to a dave coldwell show in brum very good night. my son likes it to but i hav to pay the same for a 11 year old as myself only problem i hav with boxing shows

 

Nowhere near as much as I would like too, mainly because all my friends aren't big on Boxing.

 

Yeah thats the same for me. IF you dont mention haye or khan my pals dont have a clue what your on about and to be honest i wouldn like to go on me own

 

I only started getting in to boxing in 2010 really, I went to 2 cards this year.

Price vs Harrison

Hoping to go Price vs Thompson and also Bellew vs TBA in March, need to convince my mates for the Bellew one though.

 

Not as many as l'd like.

 

I go to quite a lot of cards, mainly the local ones (of which there are quite a lot) but some further afield too. You get some good value for money with the smaller promotions whilst in the bigger ones the atmosphere can make it worthwile to pay a bit more. I don't know how you can say you are a real boxing fan of you don't go at least every now and then to support shows and bring money into it.

I was a bit disappointed I didn't get to see any shows whilst I lived abroad last year. Boxing is not as big where I was but just after I moved away Morrade Hakkar was fighting which I fancied going too and Javier Castillejo was scheduled to return too another time but I think the bill got cancelled.

 

go to quite a few of the big shows and been abroad to watch hatton too

try and catch amateur shows in local area every now and then (london) and fairly frequently go to white collar shows as i have friends fighting on them.

 

i go to a fair few (not as much as i'd like) mix it up between local small hall shows and big shows around the country
