    I only beaten one Hall of Famer but I am a Legend in my own right;
    I had 3 fights against that HOF and he only beaten me in our 3rd fight;
    I was Champion of the World in 2 weight classes;
    Twice I was the Lineal and Undisputed Champion of the World in one of those 2 weight classes.
    I had 13 World Title fights and I won 8, 6 of those by way of knockout;
    I fought mostly in 2 countries but in 1971 I also fought in Nicaragua and Japan;
    I was born exactly 6 years before Josip Bro Tito was elected the first President of Yugoslavia...but I'm not from the Balkans nor I am even European.
    I love movies and I acted in a dozen of those.

    Who am I?

    It could only be the great Nino Benvenuti! The films gave it away not his boxing achievements!
    He’s European though! I think I might be wrong!

    Ok after much thought and after my embarrassing knee jerk first response I am bowing out beaten and defeated. I suspect it’s a Mexican or South American though

    Ruben Olivares? If so, it's a travesty that Lionel Rose is not in the HOF.

    You missed by 30 seconds, buddy!
    Absolutely correct, tho. :pesas:

    I totally agree. Rose did more then enough to assure his own place in the IBHOF

    I’ll be honest Greg I was stumped. I was so sure it was Bienvenuti for no other reason that he seemed to fit the timeline and appeared in a few movies.! Amateurish.

    I had no idea Rose wasn't in it (I pay little to no attention to IBHOF) until reading your post & realising the only IBHOF he beat must have been Chacon, given your description. Tbh, I'm surprised Castillo isn't, let alone Rose.

    Yes, Chacon was the only one that so far entered the Hall. Sakurai isn't there neither, but Castillo and specially Rose is a crime. Oh well...it's the old issue about the IBHOF

    Ah, credit where it is due Vic, you got it first.

    Even then, me getting it as quick as I did was pure luck. I read lineal champion in 1 division & (inferred from the description) a strap holder in another, along with active in 1971, and the first person I thought to check was Olivares. When I saw he fought in Japan & Nicaragua in 1971, I suspected it would be him, the only thing that made me doubt that, was I found it hard to believe the brilliant Lionel Rose isn't in the IBHOF.
