I don’t know the answer but genuine kudos for pumping out these trivia questions - they’re good fun and educational (at least for some, like me ). Ha.

 

Yes Pug, agreed. Much respect to the question master…I’m learning a lot from these threads. Some questions I’ve known due to my capacity to absorb random nonsense facts, but this is one I definitely don’t know. I bet Greg has got it right though…that lad has boxing knowledge to burn!

I’m fine with that, not in the least bit jealous or feeling woefully inadequate (he doth protests too much you thinks? ).

However, I don’t think that you guys should be allowed to play anymore until they have a Champion of Champions tournament, VIP invitation only.

Your eligibility for same has been sealed. Time to give the lesser equipped a fighting chance.

 

Haha! I’m not as good as it may seem. I’m the quiz equivalent of James Bonecrusher Smith…on my day with the right questions I have all the answers. On another day I’m as useless as a catapult in a gunfight

You see, the relevancy of that went over my head.

I quickly checked and now see that in 1955 Ms or Mrs Brothers won the top prize on the 64k Question Quiz show (worth 700k + gross today).

Has the US always taxed prize money? In my neck of the woods, we get the whole lot. Hope it stays that way.

I knew of Joyce Brother’s fame otherwise but not about the quiz show win. Yet again, these threads have proven to be highly edumucational.

Totally unrelated but a must male observation - she wasn’t a bad looking lady in her hey day - would you agree? A bit of Dinah Shore vibe happening there.

 

When I saw VIII in the thread title I was about to jump in and answer “Henry The Eighth I Am” but alas the question wasn’t what I had hoped it to be. Next time…maybe…

 

A woman with that kind of boxing knowledge is sexy.

She had an off-the-charts IQ and photographic memory. She memorized the entire Ring Record Book to prepare for the show.
