I have an American nickname. I was born in Germany. I lived in Wisconsin. And my managers name was Jersey. And I fought in a bout 'billed' as a Title Fight.
Mr C-Lab,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,a hot Apple Strudel for you.:good Tough Willi Besmanoff,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Jersey Jones 'manager' Fought for the 'American Heavyweight Title' versus Ol Man 'Archie Moore' Even after losing 4 fights in a row. The guy was built like a German Half-Track,,,,,,,,,,,
was jersey jones a writer for ring magazine? I remember reading an article about willi way back when. It was about a guy told off willi's daughter for not realising how much of a price her father paid to give her a good life or something. willi was matched very hard in america. he hung prety tough with liston!
I'm not sure on that Jersey Jones connection. Willi very tough guy. Fought all those fights in Germany (record of 35-6-7) from 1952 thru 1956. Then comes over here, and beats Calvin Wilson. And upsets #6 Heavyweight Bob Baker. Gets a #5 Light Heavyweight Ranking and Then BOOM!,,,,,,they over-match him. He was mentally tough too!
