    I won the World Championship in my division;
    My Title Fights record is of 6-1-0;
    My record against World Champions is of 4-4-0;
    I also faced 2 Hall of Famers in my career, beating 1 of them in a overall record of 1-2-0;
    I was far from being a knockout artist but 2 of my wins by KO happened in World Title fights;

    My dad was a motion picture projectionist and ran a nickelodeon theater in this very famous neighborhood of a very famous city. Let's say that the area became even more famous after this All Time Great boxer, started his career there;
    At just the age of 2, my parents died and I was left alone in this World. As you can imagine, I was sent to an Orphan Asylum where I spent the rest of my entire youth;
    After I graduated from High School, I got this job as a clerk in a major factory, but still it wasn't there that I started to test myself in the fistic game. As I will tell later, that would happen only in the army.
    Eager to get out of that cruel job, I enlisted myself in the army the moment the Great War started. You may ask how a short and small man such as myself managed to pass the physical exam of the Military, but the only logical reply I can give to you, is that I was blessed with a very sharp and functional brain and because of that I managed to manipulate the scale. How about that?

    Already in the Army, I found myself in an argument with this huge bunkmate of mine and all those words led to a quite good fight behind the barracks. While having his meal in the mess hall, the company commander witnessed everything through a window and summoned me to his office. I admit that I was quite fearful of the consequences, and so I decided to report everything to him the moment I entered the room. However, and for my relief, this was his reply: " You have an excellent potential as a boxer, Private. Would you like to represent your company in army competition?"
    And so, a star was born.

    My first official fight in the army was against a guy called Kid Pancho that outweighed me by 8 pounds, or 3.6 Kg. I fought him like a gladiator to a 20 Round draw;
    As a boxer of the Army, I traveled throughout my country, fighting in all military installations they put me in. Soon after, I started to ascend to the top and after beating 8 tough fighters in a row I was crowned the Undisputed Champion of the Army in my division.

    After I was honorably discharged, I started my professional career in boxing by knocking out my opponent in four rounds, for a purse of 25€;
    I trained alongside this great champion, and that allowed me to develop my skills and to build a winning mentality;
    It took me more than 50 fights to be knockout by someone. That is no small feat by such a "pillow fist" as I am remembered today;
    After I got the crown of Champion of the World in my class, I defended the Title 5 times and still tried to conquer the crown a division north of mine. I couldn't get it, but oh boy how hard I tried. It was a great fight and I'm very much proud of it;
    During this time I was known as an awesome "Tiny fistic dynamo";

    Instead of 7, I should've had 8 World Title fights, but this crazy thing happened:
    "My manager was in the other guy's corner. He became manager of the other fellow the night before the fight. The press thought I won 10 out of 15. Yet I cannot, and I never will, say that the boxing game is crooked. We have crooks, but not in the boxing game. New York State refused to recognize the championship. They declared the title vacant because of the deception."

    Officially, I retired with the crown;
    Well, I still attempted a comeback a couple of years later and I got a few wins. However, after being KO'ed in Havana, this spunky little battler of yours quit the ring for good;

    After my retirement, I followed the steps of my late dad, and I also got a job as a motion picture projectionist. In the around 50 years that I spent in the Industry, I managed to work for MGM and became the Financial Secretary of the Motion Picture Projectionists of the Local union 306;
    I have two sons, and like their dad and grandfather, they are both in this line of business, being one a projectionist himself and the other a film editor;

    Among the tough fighters that I fought and beat, there's Ruby Bradley, Earnie Hood, Frankie Ash, Routier Parra and Willie Davis;
    I was born in the same year that the Lumière brothers premiered their new Lumière Wide format for that year's World Fair. At the time, it was the widest format ever developed.
