I had to fight for a decade and a half before I got my shot for the World Title; In that time, I was also drafted to the U.S. Navy to fight in WWII; While at War, I participated in 7 Invasions in the Pacific Theater and I still managed to capture an All-Service Championship in my division in between the landings; When I came back from the War, I started to fight anyone, anytime, anywhere; My jab and my right hook became my trademark and the reason for so many so called tough guys to avoid me in the ring; I travelled a lot. I fought in the U.S.A, U.K., Mexico, Brasil, Panama, Jamaica, Venezuela, Philippines, Argentina, South Africa and Moçambique; I managed to beat 4 Champions of the World and 1 Hall of Famer during my career; Between my first fight against a HOF and my last, 16 years passed; Amongst the tough fighters that I faced and beat, there's Ralph Dupas, Joey Lopes, Arthur Persley and Cisco Andrade; I was born in the exact same day of the mysterious disappearance of the Envagelist Aimee Semple McPherson in Venice, California, U.S.A. Who am I?
I appreciate the research that gives us a deeper dive into who the fighter was rather than just who he fought/beat, giving us fun and intriguing facts about their lives away from the ring. Mostly I haven’t really had anything more than a guess and what’s the fun in looking it up? So I wait to see the correct answer. And the couple of times I’ve been like ‘I know who that is’ … someone has beaten me to it, haha. But I have checked out every one of those and look forward to more.
Thank you for your kind words. I thought in doing the Quiz this way in order to give a little bit more information about the fighters, and to make the all thing a bit more interesting for a wider range of members/participants. I don't think it makes much sense to give a somewhat biography of the fighters so I try to keep it as concise as possible. I think that one shouldn't hesitate in giving whatever answer that occur's to one mind. The point is also to have some fun, eheh!
