I had a short career of less than 9 years; I was a big puncher and most of my wins were by knockout coming from my southpaw stance; I was a proud sailor and War Veteran and amongst other warships, I was assigned to the U.S.S. Lexington and to the U.S.S.Alabama; I faced and beat many Journeymen, true, but I also got wins over the likes of Jake La Motta, Kenny Watkins, Lloyd Marshall, Dave Whitlock and Danny Nardico; I never won a World Title but I got my shot. I was a 5-12 favorite but no judge gave me more than 5 rounds in their scorecards; I was just a few days old when the biggest jailbreak ever in Europe occurred in Ireland, in the Dundalk Gaol (more than 100 men escaped after the use of dynamite to create a hole in the prison wall); Who am I?
