My left hook is considered one of the best ever! I never won a World Title but I scored wins over 6 Champions of the World, nine times; I beaten 4 Hall of Famers and I fought them fourteen times during my career; In one year alone I had 5 fights against two HOF's; Amongst the tough fighters that I fought and beat, there's Don Barry, Joe Banovic, George Nichols, George Courtney and Marty Simmons; At the Yankee Stadium in New York, I used my vicious left hook to stop my opponent that outweighed me by a staggering 52 pounds or 23.5 Kg; I was never knocked down in more than 100 professional fights; Although I was a major name of the rings that attracted thousands and thousands of fans to watch my fights, I also hold this embarrassing number haunting me: 2 278. That was the ridiculous amount of people that showed up to my title fight, which if I'm not mistaken, it's the lowest ever in a title fight of the modern Era. Oh well, the promoter was not very smart and charged a lot for ticket in the middle of the Depression; I had hopes to buy a farm to raise chickens with the money of that fight - oh yeah, I really love chickens - but I only received enough money to get back home and buy food for a week. That was the last title fight in that heavenly town; I was born in the same Sunday of the eruption of a gusher at Casiano number 7 of the Mexican Petroleum Company owned by the famous Edward L. Doheny, that started producing 60 thousand barrels a day and marked the beginning of a new era in which Mexico would become a gigantic oil producer. What a Sunday; Who am I?
I’m just going to keep guessing Alabama Kid til I force @Gui Dosnera to make one about him. So even though we know the answer, my guess is: Alabama Kid.
Well it’s probably no worse a strategy than my delving into my dwindling memory banks and coming up with the wrong answers haha!
I will find it. Thanks and keep ‘em coming!!! I assure you, your contributions (and this series in particular) are valued and appreciated.
