Yeah i've noticed the last few months with that pattern, asked him the last time out what was the reasoning & he said he was never given an explanation plus he is not the only one whos now been banned back to back, suspect it could be due to someone reporting it even though worse has been said to him first & i've never see him caring too much.

it’s pretty crazy how the old timers got away legacy-wise with blatant PED use, while current fighters get pilloried for it (unless it’s Tyson Fury)

at least the tide is turning a little. roids are one of the first things mentioned nowadays when Holyfield is brought up.

RJJ used "ripped fuel" which contained PEDs

Ripped Fuel (now banned for containing ephedra with ephedrine still being legal), let's be honest, that's not the hard stuff. It wasn't something that you had to use clandestine means to get ahold of (like using an alias of your real name). You could walk into any GNC at the time and purchase it right beside protein powder. Roy was not on the "Ivan Drago" stuff or the Big Baby Miller stuff.

Some of the guys there's no disputing though I readily admit that. Evander's entire DNA changed IMO.

I mean clenbuterol is also weak sauce. Its used by bodybuilders to cut weight and retain muscle mass...its used during weight cuts to not lose muscle mass. Yet everyone in boxing says its a goddamn steroid.

RJJ was among the fastest fighters with the among most power and incredible endurance. All of those physical attributes benefit from PED use. RJJ had 6x the allowable T:E ratio and he used the EXCUSE it was ripped fuel. That was never substantiated. RJJ very likely cheated and was caught but gets a pass for unknown reasons tbh

    But they aren't steroids.

Look, I'm not arguing that they aren't performance enhancing they are, you're right. My argument is there's levels to these things. I mean you break the rules, yea suffer the penalty, but I can't act like an OTC supplement that you can buy on a random Wednesday at a nutrition store is the same as ramming a needle into your arm directly to the vein. It simply isn't.

What I was going to post. We have to realize 'PED" is a vague and generic term. Which does have levels. One can buy (or could at the time) Ripped Fuel at GNC. Couldn't just go up and ask the counters for steroids or clenbuterol. And for good reasons.

The point is nobody knows if RJJs illegally high levels of testosterone was due to taking Ripped Fuel. Its possible though.

Also, clenbuterol is legitimately used in some cattle in Mexico. Its possible Canelo's test was due to contaminated meat ingestion

Obviously the failed test is much worse for RJJ who had a weak case for Top 10 All Time EVER. But that failed test bottoms him out especially with how his career fizzled too

I can appreciate what you're sayin. I don't think Roy really took much of a hit though.................I have never (personally) heard anyone bring it up outside of online forums and everyone knows who Roy is. Now Evander, Shane..............etc. I've heard them brought up in casual talk on the news, a few different places, (Shane because of Conte obviously).
