Yeh he should fight Romanov in Feb then the winner of Thaxton vs Murray. A fight for the Commonwealth, European and British titles would be Huge.
No disrespect to McAllister but I really hope Khan isn't put in with him next - he could actually lose more than he gains from that fight in terms of credibility. The WBU belt isn't worth taking a backwards step for in my view.
OK it seems alot of you are saying he should fight the winner of Murray vs Thaxton before Romanov. Seeing as it will be Febuary time when he fights next and Murray vs Thaxton won't happen until then. McAlister would be a good option to get some rounds under his belt, sticking him in with a tough african would also be good, perhaps someone like a Miranda who can hurt but be hurt.
Although there has been speculation about Murray v Thaxton that fight hasn't actually been made yet to my knowledge. Thaxton is the most obvious candidate for Khan next but you never know with Warren - could be someone we haven't considered yet!
Thaxton will not fight Murray if Khan is on the cards He probably gets beat into near retirement by both, and Khan would be MUCH the bigger payday
Beating Earl must have been the icing on the cake for Khan on his birthday. Hope you enjoy yours today Max - saw it on the forum home page when I logged on! :good
Some interesting BBBofC championship news on British Boxing net. Purse bids have been called for January 2008 for the following lightweight contests to take place by the end of April 2008 - British Title Jonathan Thaxton (Holder) v Amir Khan English Title John Murray (Holder) v John Fewkes
Think it is when the boxers promoters are invited to put forward their best bid for control of the said bout i.e when and where it takes place, etc.
