Found this brilliant clip on Youtube - great to see all these faces (and their amazing 70's suits too ) - just thought I'd put this up for a bit of light relief

Just thought I'd give this thread a boost to the top of the list again just incase anyone missed it when I first put it up - suspect a few of the old-schoolers on here would enjoy seeing this :)

I think this might be from around the time when all these fighters got together for a Christmas Charity do in Apalachia. There was a book written about it by Willie Pep and Robert Sachi, a must read for classic aficionados. Fridays Heroes, I recommend it strongly.

AF I read Fridays Heroe's by Pep and Sachi several years ago, about the fighters who were televised on Gillette TV bouts...Good reading for me who watched them in person and on early TV...

Thank You so much for putting this up!

I knew everyone of those guys very well. My Secretary, of the NJ Boxing Hall of Fame is Steve Belloise's daughter, Stefani. Tippy Larkin I took with me all the time. Giardello, Russo, Pep. LaMotta, Charlie Fusari, Graham, Basilio, Davey and Ernie Durando. I know Durando's grandson and I just sent him & Stefani this.

Again, thanks so much for bringing back some Great memories.

I will let you know for sure. I will be with both Stefani and Ernie's grandson in the next few weeks.

I also knew Chico very well too. The last time I saw him was at the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame affair a few years ago.

The last time I saw Tippy and Giardello was when I gave both of them a Eulogy and rung the bell "9" times. I talked to Fusari only a few days before he passed away. It's Great to see them this way again.
