We've seen the best of Wallin, he was never a serious contender, just a gate keeper at best. He just got overhyped after having a few good rounds vs Fury, much like how Jennings got over hyped because he did better than expected vs Wlad. Rating fighters on better than expected but still losing performances is dumb. Just means they look good losing, which is basically what gate keepers do when they step up and lose.
His best win is against the fat inactive cruiserweight called Gassiev. Anyone who actually watched the Fury fight knows that the cut was dumb luck, a non-concussive punch that somehow caught the skin and made a ridiculous cut out of nothing. And that turned the fight into a dogfight, where Fury still won every round afterwards basically. But a strange thing happens where when AJ beats somebody they become REALLY good. Also when he loses to them. Ruiz, I recall went from a gatekeeper fat non-puncher to a master boxer with the most dangerous fast hands at hw. Recently the MMA fighter became the second best HW in the world, and beating him put AJ in that position. In fact, why don't we just cancel Fury-Usyk and have AJ fight Usyk again? Just need to rig one more card and he wins the MD this time.
Breazale and Gassiev, two unimpressive wins, even Ngannou looked better against Ngannou than Wallin...
He lost the last round, in which he was stunned by a pillow fisted Wallin. You got only Fury to thank for that. Wallin was also rated as Top 10 contender by The Ring Magazine and Top 5 contender by TBRB. Plus you had a lot people saying that this will be a tough fight for AJ and he may actually lose. Now all of the sudden, he's a bum. Same with Ngannou. A lot of people were saying he will break the glass jaw of AJ. Now he's back to being a novice.
Wasn’t the only time Sokolowski got robbed. I just saw his bare knuckle debut, I hope he does well and makes some decent money.
