I rarely watch heavyweights as the lighter weights are more fun to watch. I never really rated Zhang as a fighter but after rewatching the Hrgovic fight, I saw the baits he'd hold out and the quick inside counters he lands. It's a testament to Hrgovic chin that he was able to take the bombs that he did ( and almost made him quit). And of course the Joyce fights. Looking forward to his next fight.
When I was younger I didn’t appreciate GGG now I go back and study his fights he is one of my all time favourites.
This content is protected This was the first interview I saw Froch do and then you had all the George Groves drama, but now he's retired he seems a lot more humble and down to earth. I think he was misunderstood by a lot of people during his career.
I didn't particularly care much for Marvin Hagler when I first started getting into the sport. He just seemed much less interesting than the other members of the Fab 4 at a glance, and I didn't bother watching any of his fights. Then I got George Kimball's ''Four Kings'' book, which talked about his upringing and way to the top in detail, and it was my favourite part of the book. Then I decided to look at some highlights, watched some fights afterwards, and now he is my second favourite fighter ever, only behind Duran.
Ali. I was a huge George Foreman fan when I was a kid. I thought Big George was going to knock him out until he got knocked out himself by Ali. I jumped on the Ali bandwagon so fast after that. I even had my mom go to the store and buy me the little 45 record with the Muhammad Ali song on it.
Crawford for getting in the ring with his rival and winning in impressive fashion. Boxing needs more like him, but I was pretty down on him and Spence over the years.
A lot of people over here thought he was a knob during his career and still do now he is retired. So bitter towards Andre Ward. You lost by a country mile to a far superior boxer, get over it. Tough man though, great engine.
