Who are some good fighters who are still relevant, but are going through a bad patch?

I think at 27 time is on his side, maybe make a run at Aldo if he can regain some form. HIGHLY unlikely as it stands though

Chris Leben. If he hangs around long enough and wins a few fights here and there he might just be in the right place at the right time and wind up with a title shot.

Mayhem Miller. Even after his public de-pantsing Mayhem is still a very talented fighter and is only a couple wins away from being in the hunt.

Chris Leben is just a step above bum and he's only hung around as long as he has because he's a kill or be killed fighter. He has garbage stand-up that is saved by a pair of pretty heavy hands and a good Chin. That is it. He will never sniff a title shot unless he's led to one like a dog on a leash by being matched with an array of one-dimensional stiffs.

And don't even get me started on Miller, he is a disgrace to the sport. His stand-up is as pathetic and uncomfortable as a gimpy ****** getting in a fight at the schoolyard playground, he has no wrestling ability whatsoever, and his cardio is as impressive as a 90 year-old emphysema patient's after negotiating ten flights of stairs. He has nothing to recommend him beyond an above-average BJJ game and a solid Chin and I don't care anything about seeing that joke in the UFC again. He will be brutally thrashed by anyone with a punch and an iota of takedown defense.

That's just a bad patch. bra. Like the title says. if someone like Cote or Leities can get a shot - Leben might luck into one one day. It would be through a combination of luck and timing. Fighters are always getting injured and cards are always in need of being saved by fighters willing to step in at the last minute.

No, a bad patch is a talented guy who has come up short a few times recently but still has "it", such as Machida as mentioned by the TS. The two guys you're talking about aren't very talented, at all, and neither has what it takes to ever be anything more than a fringe Top 10er in a weak division. They are both disgraces, though I must say that Leben is worse on account of being a proven multiple-time drug cheat and alcoholic.

I won't defend Leben's test results that's for sure. The rest is just a matter of opinion.
