Technically I would put Golovkin forward as an extremely polished and well rounded fighter. I would agree immediately that he isn't the fastest fighter and that he slowed down significantly as he aged. However, as a boxer, he is all about technique and imposing his style on the other guy. He's got the footwork to control distance. He has one of the best jabs in boxing, able to both disrupt the other guy and to serve as a weapon in its own right. He can fight at range and he can fight close. There's not a punch in boxing he doesn't use. He can go to the body and head and mixes his combinations up. Additionally, despite the popular belief that his defence is leaky, I posit that he in fact has an excellent defence and uses a combination of slipping punches, range control and his stance (elbows and gloves) to pick off incoming fire. :campeon:

Came here to say exactly this. When Golovkin doesn't respect the power of his opponent, he'll take shots just to mess with his opponent by informing them their power doesn't affect him I think. When GGG doesn't want to be hit though, like in the Lemieux or Ishida fights, he is a defensive master.
