Guys like James Toney that can come in to the ring 30 to 40 pounds overweight and barley even have trained and still beat mostly everyone out there. Guys who seem like they were born with the skills rather than trained into them. Take a guy like Kermit Cintron for example he gets knocked for the losses to Margarito but here is a guy that was fighting for a world title just 5 years after lacing up the gloves for the very first time. Fighting just came naturally to him. What other guys is there like that?

Benitez is the definitive example, probably.

Maybe my wording was poor but I think you get my point. I remember a few years back in an intreview Toney was asked what makes him such a good fighter and he said that he was born to do it where as the other guys were taught how to fight.

Seeing him fight I tend to agree. Obviously he needed some training but I think that he is the type of guy that is just naturally made to fight. Even if he had first laced up the gloves when he was 25 by age 30 I think that he would be kicking some serious ass.

I just don't know how you mean. Fighters who just seem to be real warriors at heart (like Gatti), fighters who adjusted to the sport quickly (like Benitez, Duran, Tyson, etc.), or fighters who fought with a very natural style in the ring (like Roy Jones)?

Sweet Pea is right, a whole shipload of fighters could be categorized here.

Guys like Mayorga will readily take a beating if it means they're getting paid for it. The guy doesn't seem to care about what might happen to him in the ring.

James Toney says he was born to fight, but skills don't just come out of nowhere. He is a very technical fighter. In fact, that's the reason he can come in overweight, because his technique is very good. Roy Jones on the other hand relied heavily on his physical aspects, and that came back to hit him in recent years.

Iron chins like Margarito could be considered natural, because you can't train the chin.

Lions who will face anybody can also be called "real fighters" (another Toney quality).

Boxers who started very late (Campbell, Rahman etc..) can also be considered naturals.
