I was hoping against hope that we would get a hobbit/pad work related accident there, but no such luck :-(

You've got to be out of the bar by 7, and escorted at all times by a responsible adult, which may be a big ask in Cardiff

Gaz - last time I was in Cardiff - about June last year - I went up to buy a Londsdale Speedball - because I like to train in my shed - needed a new speedball.

I went up to the shop on Whitchurch Road - they got alot of boxing equipment -

Do you know the shop I am on about ?

Cardiff Sportsgear - not that great. They don't have a huge variety of stuff, but unfortunately it's one of the very few places in Cardiff to buy stuff off the shelf.
I took Mikkel Kessler there in November 2007, as he wanted to buy new boots. He ended up just signing a bunch of posters for the shop staff and buying nothing. I felt a bit embarrassed taking him there to be honest.

Best place in South Wales for gear is probably Darren Wilson's place in Llantrisant. Not actually been there myself but heard good things and looks pretty good from the website.

Indeed! It makes sense, everyone helping everyone out - then everyone benefits! We hope it'll be a success. :good

    Yeah - Boots

I first went to shop back in 1997 - the bloke who owned the shop told me that Naseem Hamed popped in there to buy boxing boots too - before the Steve Robinison fight.

Yeah not much places to buy decent stuff off the shelf.

I needed a new speedball - and the only place I could get one in Swansea was in Argos :-(

    **** quality.

So I said **** that - and popped up to Cardiff - got a nice Lonsdale one and it is still sound 8 months on. :thumbsup

I have found the best quality though is to order equipment from off the back of Boxing Monthly to get delievered from proper trade equipment.

Yeah most stuff I get is usually via mail order companies. Boxfit, Sugarray's, Geezer's etc. Not the same as actually looking at something before you buy it, but at least there's an actual choice of some of the gear you want.
