Only three active fighters make this list. I decided placement by dominance in their respective eras, longevity, talent, world champions won, success in higher weight classes, etc. Who do you guys make the cut?

Nope, he was a shooting star. He lost to two men I voted in my top 15, and also didnt stay at the top very long. Before he went to prison he had the goods to become an all-time great, he was great in his time though. Longevity and dominance in your era has alot to do with my rankings. He is in my top 30 I believe:good

Of the past 30 years, since 1978:think

    1. Sugar Ray Leonard
    2. Roberto Duran
    3. Pernell Whitaker
    4. Marvin Hagler
    5. Roy Jones, Jr.
    6. Julio Cesar Chavez
    7. Alexis Arguello
    8. Evander Holyfield
    9. Thomas Hearns
    10. Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
    11. Lennox Lewis
    12. Bernard Hopkins
    13. Salvador Sanchez
    14. Oscar De La Hoya
    15. Michael Spinks

This is based on accomplishments, not head to head ability. If I based it on the latter, it would include Mike Tyson and Aaron Pryor. Ricardo Lopez just missed my list, as did Mike McCallum. I don't think they beat better fighters than Spinks did.

Since 1978, based ONLY on their careers past this point, therefore a guy like Duran gets the short end of the stick due to having almost his entire LW career cut out, as well as other fighters. If you have questions about certain fighters placing, make sure to take into account the above criteria:

    1. Ray Leonard
    2. Pernell Whitaker
    3. Marvin Hagler
    4. Roy Jones Jr.
    5. Julio Cesar Chavez
    6. Tommy Hearns
    7. Floyd Mayweather
    8. Evander Holyfield
    9. Michael Spinks
    10. Alexis Arguello
    11. Bernard Hopkins
    12. Lennox Lewis
    13. Larry Holmes
    14. Roberto Duran
    15. Salvador Sanchez

HM: Aaron Pryor, Mike McCallum, Oscar De La Hoya, Felix Trinidad, Azumah Nelson, Ricardo Lopez

****...I forgot about Larry Holmes. I'd put him 11th or 12th.
