He's been trolling a Floyd fanboy theme. This threads all about TBE.
The agenda is strong with this kid.

Pulling the memory, the list may contain many omissions, and considering "past" the period until the seventies.

    Robert Fitzsimmons
    Harry Greb
    Benny Leonard
    Jack Johnson
    Jack Dempsey
    Henry Armstrong
    Joe Louis
    Rocky Marciano
    Sonny Liston

Pernell Whitaker is a vastly better boxer than Jack Dempsey.

I'm terrible with lists,...I always forget someone and have to go back and edit it,...that's why I'm not attempting a list...:dancer2:

Sonny Liston had very underrated boxing skills.

But only true boxing historians know this.

Boxing fans from this generation just think of him as a slow fighter with only power that Ali beat up on twice.

I do agree with u about Liston.
I was talking to Harold Johnson about 8 yrs ago or so and he told me he used to handle Liston without any problems in the gym.
    Pretty damn impressive.

    That is indeed impressive .

I heard of Liston sparring with Johnson before . They were actually scheduled to fight one time but it fell threw .

Liston had a nasty reputation when it came to sparring . He broke his sparring partners ribs with 20 ounce gloves on .

But of course theres always going to be 1 or 2 fighters that you cant push around in the gym like you do to everyone else
