Have heard some Channel 10 whispers and just read the Hordern Pavillion thread. But that's the first link I've heard between the two.

I still recall the old TV Ringside days in the early 70's - bring back the free-to-air!

FTA coverage can not only take our sport off life support CHB - it could send it positively healthy again

so what you are saying is that the other 'top'managers and promoters have got spastics to work with? you areclowns. boxa and green machine promotions are out of the stratosphere compared to the othe bottom feeders,or the other guys must only have tomatoe cans to work with. is that what you are implying? dont come back with any 'oh they have the names to work with'. the other promoter managers have been in the game longer than boxa and g.m., but have never gone anywhere near putting on a show like them,or make their fighters any real money, which is wot amanager and promoters duty is isnt it???
a good manager,or promoter would find a way to spin something to get the fighter exposure,or get him known to the public so he can get a following. you are insulting the other fighters without even knowing it.or the truth is that the other fighters are all spastics and so are their managers and promoters!!!! a lot of these fighters, managers and promoters you suggest have been around for a long time, but you wouldnt know them if they jumped out of your soup.one word-incompetent as a commodity. boxa and gm have made MILLIONS. millions is a serious amount of money for people who are supposed to be lucky to have a name to work with. dont let envy cloud the facts here people, the guys you talk about are battlers, and good bloody luck to them.they could learn a **** load from boxa and gm on how to make millions. they did promote the MOST SUCCESSFUL AND LUCRATIVE supermiddleweight bout in the history of the sport WORLDWIDE,and the biggest fight in australian history.they may just do it again if they want.

Another decent manager is Jamie, who's already been mentioned as a promoter. Works on handshake agreements with his boxers and doesn't take cuts. Can't complain about that.

Hey Ippy, if he doesnt take cuts why does he bother with doing it? Just love? If so that is pretty unusual & commendable. I know he set up the sherro v gare fight and from memory pittman v sturm, didnt realise he did it for free!

like it or not shiner....its only the elite in boxing that make good dough. and only the managers of the elite that get paid well also....to make money as a manager you need talent in your stable of boxers..

nasser is a one trick pony that happens to have australias best and most controversial fighter. green was the other best...

but if you want to talk about good managers, from a fighters perspective, then noel thornberry has an envious record of getting fighters that arent 'elite', title shots, and does it time after time. and has never to my knowledge, been accused of being money hungry or shady in any way....

it shows how well respected he is overseas, in north and south america, in europe, and in australia, because he can make these fights happen for fringe contenders, when others cant.....

like to see mr nasser, pull that off...without his meal ticket...mundine!!

Mate hoping to land another fight, touch wood and Mr Kickett could be on, I'm told. Nothing settled on yet. Should be ironed out in the next few days. The good news is that interest from pubs and clubs is going great guns at the moment.

Don't get me wrong, it's a two way street. Sherro sells well on the Gold Coast, bringing good numbers to Jamie's promotions. However, he doesn't stand in the way and will let him fight on other people's cards. He also steered Juarne Dowling from club fighter to Australian champion to Mundine opponent. Can't argue with that one. Not saying he did the hard yards in the gym with him or anything. But built him into a big attraction in the Coast.
