Jermain Taylor is way overrated. the way HBO were announcing his fight with Lacy, you would think he would have a shot vs Calzaghe

 

Williams. He beat Margarito in a close fight and then it took him 2 fights to beat Quintana. Other than that he really has just beaten cans and shot fighters. He does this whole weight jumping thing but until he fights a top fighter then he does no deserve all the credit he gets.

 

most people will tell u after a fight is over..it depends on high u rate each guy...when a guy like aztec blows margo I tend to think margo is not THAT good...all fighters on here have their fans...they are all good it just depends on the amt of nuthugging they recieve

personally I feel like margo is gettin way too much cred...he has 1 great win cuz he is HUGE and has a great chin...is he a bad fighter? hell no...I am not a hater...but this thread def sets the stage for the haters to come out and play

 

see what i mean? margo has 1 good win too? and 2 if u consider clottey who is on par with quintana whom williams avenged his loss to in devastating fashion

 

both are excellent fighters, but not as good as they were advertised. a lot of people were thinking pavlik would stop b-hop and most were thinking cotto was going to outbox margarito a win a clear decision or stop him late.

yes but what about the fact that KP KO'D Jt and pantera and cotto beatdown judah, mosely, torres, malignaggi..these guys have 1 loss each?

Problem here is, Margarito has never been hyped up by HBO or the Boxing world. When people were saying he was avoided, he was was, but only because he didn't draw in any money and wasn't a marquee name. Even Margarito's fans, myself included, know that Margarito has flaws. He telegraphs punches, his defense is void at times, and is a very slow starter. However, what makes Margarito one of the best Welterweights in the world is his stamina and determination. It's quite special.

Not many people at 147 have a better resume than Margarito if you disregard all the old timers like Mosley. At least he's fighting all the best fighters though, Clottey (who is far superior to Quintana), Cintron, Williams, Cotto..in the space of 2 years? Just what we want.
