If you think Williams is the best, despite him campaigning at 160 and 154 in his two last fights, then you are entitled to your opinion.

One of the wins you listed for Williams took place at 154, and should be disregarded in this discussion. When talking about who's got the best resume at 147, I think Margarito has fought more contenders and beat more contenders.

In any event, the overall point I was making is that Antonio has no place in this thread. Nobody says he is a master boxer, or a defensive genius, he is what he is and I don't see anybody disputing otherwise. For most of his career he was disregarded by HBO.

Margarito is doing everything he should be doing. He's fought Williams, Clottey, Cintron, and Cotto (in the space of 2 years), and is now taking on a solid challenge in Shane Mosley.

I have to agree. Margarito is still generally underrated as a talent by most people.

Medal for picking Margarito by TKO.

Margarito is not a better fighter than Williams, or at least hasn't shown to be superior yet, but he should be credited as being "the man" at 147.

Before the Cotto fight, I think everybody regarded Cotto as the man to beat after Floyd decided to retire prematurely. Margarito defeated him in emphatic fashion, having already rid of two solid contenders in Cintron and Clottey. The Williams fight I had scored 7-5 for Williams, so it was no domination like a lot of people allude too. Margarito is the man at 147, I feel.

I have also thought he is underrated. I am the same size as Margo and Cotto would have kicked the **** out of me.

Margarito gets credit for taking on all challengers, which effectively dispells that bull**** I was reading about him supposedly ducking Clottey and Williams. I wonder if those same people actually realise that Margarito fought Clottey last year, and Williams earlier this year. Bizzare.

I haven't claimed Margarito is a better fighter than Williams, just that he should be credited as being "the man" at 147 with his crushing win over Miguel Cotto. Whilst Margarito is preparing to fight Mosley in January, Williams seems to be busy at other weights. I'm sure if the two keep winning, they will meet in the near future to determine who is the best at 147.

:patsch I was just giving the dude a hard time..which is what I normally do on thread like this....Margo is as overstated as anyother fighter on this list....Many fighters are over rated and thread like this dont accomplish anything, the people that dont like fighter A will check his name, the posters that do like fighter A will get pissed and start bashing whatever fighter the poster that checked his name likes..Its a 8, **** just dont end...

Ok, what do people say about Margarito that you would consider embellishment?

"Overrated" is the most overrated term in Boxing history.

This thread is just as relevant as any other, and if people didn't find it neccesary to post in them, there would be no use for a forum.
