What fighters would be a good test for a guy who is about to become a title contender from 147-154?

    Andre Berto
    Soto-Karrass
    Josseito Lopez
    Joshua Clottey
    Luis Collazo

I would put Victor Ortiz but he can't take punch and may be beneath gatekeeper status.

I can't think of anybody else, but I know their out there.

That Argentine that schooled Broner is a decent gatekeeper.

He lost to every legit fighter he's faced. His best wins are exposing hype jobs like Broner and Ortiz. He's the definition of a gatekeeper. :deal

the definition of a gatekeeper is someone who can compete on the world level but cannot crack the very top, which means no major world titles.

saying a multi weight world champion that really just hit his prime years under Garcia is a gatekeeper is crazy. what happens when he wins another major world title, then possibly goes up and wins a trinket tat 154 ? those are all easy possibilities for him and easily attainable.

you cant be a top 5 in the hottest division in the sport and be considered a gatekeeper. my god , ignorance is bliss to some

Being a multi weight title holder world champ means little. Broner, for example, is complete garbage and is a 3 weight world champion. Maidana won titles from shot Morales and hype job Broner. Whoop de doo. As would about 30 or so other gatekeepers.

    1. Welterweight is not hottest division in boxing. That is Flyweight but as you point out ignorance is bliss.
    2. Maidana is not a top 5 welterweight. He's maybe top 10 at best.
    3. Maidana has zero chance of beating any of the title holders at 147- they are legit fighters. Maidana is a gatekeeper- he doesn't beat them

k9 is one of the luckiest boxers ever.
    4 world championships.
IBF is racially biased. (just like WBC.)
    Weak champions.

He KOd a clearly past it Spinks and Molina looked just ghastly. And K9s style meshed extremely well for him versus Molina.

K9 is also the oldest 154 "world champion" ever yet no one has him in their top 5
    Boxing :dead

Gatekeepers are always put against rising stars. Maidana is not a gatekeeper. Soto Karass and Julio Diaz are gatekeeper s

If Maidana loses his next match, he will be a 147 Gate Keeper.

Currently Lost 2 in a row, 5 Losses all up with only 35 wins who will be 32 Years Old mid next year.
