Yeah, except for his fight with that one Camacho guy you might know a thing or two about.

Not to mention Pea's win over Vasquez, who Norris wanted nothing to do with. But I don't suppose that means much to you.

And yeah, I guess Pea was a runner, but we can't all be true bangers and crowd pleasers like Camacho. :good

I'd put that in the same category with Chavez-Mayweather, Chavez-laporte, Chavez-Rosario, Chavez-Martinez, Chavez-Ramierez, Chavez-Haugen, Chavez-Lockridge, and any other has been waiting to be taken. Need I go on Mr. Leonard is #1?

The fact is, you have a lot to learn about the sport which is difficult if you werent around even if you act like you were. I dont get excited with wins over has-beens the way you do. That is, it's easy to be impressed with such wins if you have no clue and dont bother following careers. Where was Chavez when Hector was universally recognized champion at both 130, 135? Hiding-that's where. He's from that ray Leonard school of thought "live to fight another day"

First major big time opponent was Meldrick and I have to say that under the rules, he didnt beat him and he owes a great debt to the very corrupt Ref Steele for helping his career along.

I'm only a troll in your eyes because of your limited knowledge of the sport. You already revealed to me that you didnt get the opportunity to watch Hector at the time he came up 130 pounds. This means you dont know just like I said.

Youre trying to make judgements on your superior. Were you around when Lockridge made short work of Mayweather? Hell no you werent. That makes Mayweather an instant stepping stone for the next fighter who wants to make a name for himself. Of course, 1 year later Chavez was there bravely facing the 1st round knockout victim in his pro tv network debut. Pity he couldn't arrange something with Camacho back then. It's as if he were waiting for his hair to fall out first.

Same with Laporte who kept piling on with the losses. Must have had 7 of them by the time the management decided on a fight. Ramirez? Haugen? Been there & done that. All of them clearly what you would call stepping stones.

Go on and put your money where your mouth is. The record book is more honest than you

Stop your whining! I've seen every single goddamn fighter you have, including a young Camacho. What you don't seem to realize is that there's a lot more to a fighter's greatness than how quick and explosive he is. Especially if he's getting his ass handed to him as a pro by an amateur who will eventually surpass him in every single area. Ranking him above someone like that just because he's one of your favorites is what shows a true lack of knowledge of the sport and/or a great bias. I'd say both happen to be your issues.

Hey bud, get a clue!!! Just about everyone here has seen them-doesnt mean anyone can become an instant authority on them. All they would know is their style of fighting. The problem remains you have no idea of when idea of how a fighter is ranked by the time Chavez got to them, with the losses already piling up. Then you start blaming me for your own ignorance.

What you dont realize how the importance of rank at the time, which direction they are going in their careers and you cant possibly know that if you werent around. With you there's no way around this.

Its no big deal watching Chavez Ko someone in two if I already seen someone else do it in one or that he decisions another if 12 other people done the same thing. You just got no clue about this sort of thing. So he beat up Rosario and stopped him. So did Luis Ramirez, 3 years earlier. So he decisioned Luis Ramirez, so did Boom boom Mancini back in 81. Did you see that one Pea? Ray won easy. But you didnt see it because you weren't around. Haugen, another frequently beaten contender still hanging around.

The only top fighters Chavez faced when they were hot are Taylor, Pernell, and DLH and he couldnt take them without help.

You need to do alot more research if you want to be taken seriously here. The only ones experts I see over 30 years are Duodenum, whatever he is called, Divac, Manassa who does thorough research before posting about past eras.

But you, you're from a different stock and you still got your story backwards. It is Camacho, lord of the lightweights, who who dished it out to Pernell. I saw the article myself when it came out in 1985.

As ususal you missed something important-that Hector manhandled him, schooled him in the art of dirty fighting, that his own trainers had to step in save him from physical damage. Who do you think he learned everything from?

I am very aware, as is pretty much everyone who has a clue, of when a fighter's prime is, especially one that I intend to rank. Camacho was not in his prime for Chavez, but honestly, did he do enough in his prime to be considered as high as you ranked him? Not at all, and most CERTAINLY not higher than someone like Whitaker or Leonard, who beat far better opposition. and were more consistent. If Camacho's prime days end because he can't handle getting hit then that's his problem.

You fool, if we're talking about Camacho, the bottom line remains, he didn't do as much in his prime as a guy like Whitaker, Camacho, Chavez, etc. So what is your point?

Do you realize how much incoherent, pointless rambling you're doing?

And let's name the top dawgs at their best that Camacho convincingly beat. If you're unwilling to take into consideration anything that he did when past his prime(other than the win over a 41 year old Leonard of course), then please explain, once and for all, how his prime is better than the others.

    Divac?

This is why you're not taken seriously, and everyone considers you a useless troll. I honestly am getting angry at the BS you tried to spout about my status on here in the last paragraph now that I know once and for all you're serious with the nonsense you post. You're the most ridiculed member on this forum with the most backwards ass opinions, and it's me who needs to get his story straight? Fool.:patsch

WHat you laughing at Divac for? You are always putting down your betters...youngster. I forgot Jyuza too- both can qualify as experts. Look at the detail Duodenum went into on the Camacho-Montes fight. Can you do that? No you cant do that and you are still saying you are qualified to rank fighters.

You're still moping how Ray Leonard called out Camacho then you blame Hector for kicking his ass. Please takes this like a man and not a leonard fan. Never mind he is the only man in history to sideline his career 5 years to get a shot fighter who was going to retire anyway.

Justify how you can rank a man who doesnt give remtaches. Only a chicken **** would refuse to give rematches-Joe Frazier said so.

while youre at it tell us what great accomplishment Chavez has. You know you dont have the nerve because you are all lip and no knowledge and a legend in your own mind. Chavez is not a legend because he never beat another hot fighter. He couldnt beat Taylor but he did much better in the rematch after Norris and Espana were done with him, leaving a shell behind that Chavez could roll over the way he did with all the other shells; Laporte, Mayweather, haugen, Camacho, Rosario, Ramirez, and God knows who all the other 95 fighters were (sparring partners?)

You did a good job of going around this question again - you just repeated yourself just like you always do. Chavez fought no one in their prime and when he did he was exposed.

Put in a healthy Frankie Randall and he cant beat him. A sickly Frankie Randall but never a healthy 32 year old.

Check out this other crap you're spewing "Did he do enough in his prime to be considered as highly as high as you rank him? Not at all, and most CERTAINLY not higher than someone like Whitaker or Leonard, who beat far better opposition. and were more consistent". Talk about fools!

Whitaker I can understand at least some enthusiasm considering you call yourself sweet pea :-( but let's face it; Camacho was just plain better with 3 times the speed. Pernell I could always follow his above average hand speed but Hector's gloves were like a red blur and would have just been too fast for him-- and Pernell without a punchers chance would be helpless to do anything but lose a decision.

It all comes down to this: one skilled southpaw against another skilled southpaw with three times the speed. Pernell would be hard pressed to get a shot off against the world's fastest fighter. This is like another contest I saw Hector in where my man took all ten rounds against the nowhere near as fast Howard Davis.
