I dont mean you saw in youtube or some older fighters you were too young to see

I'm talking about fighters of "your" time not some 20 year old talking about AAron Pryor who theyve seen only clips off. No perspective whatsoever...

    Heres the best for me

    Donald Curry -

The buzz on this guy was unbelievable..one of the greatest amateurs ever to fight. Great boxing pedigree. Tremendous reflexes, footwork, power and speed..The most fluid fighter Ive ever seen. Dominant in the mid 80's fighting the best at the time..

The KO of Mccrory was one of the most beautiful left hook ever, again perspective..at the time this was for p4p supremacy.

Some have speculated he was avoided by the fab four I cant blame them.

Everytime they announced "The LONE STAR COBRA!!!" it still sends shivers.

    Another fighter is Mike Mccallum

The only fighter to me who had no weaknesses...A Master Technician who although known as a great body puncher was much more than that. Able to fight upclose as he did to Julian Jacksons surprise or fight on the outside utilizing his jab as he did with Donald Curry.

He had an Iron chin, fought RJJ at the tender age of 40 and lasted the distance...The only man who could have beaten Prime RJJ IMHO. He had tremendous defensive skills to boot.

Definitely one of the most underrated fighters in History

most memorable trait for me was his calm demeanor..very poised under pressure..Julian tried to bomb him outta there and was literally surprised when bombs were being returned.

Known to have been avoided by some of the big four as well...I think he would have beaten Leonard, Duran and Hearns...Id only favor Hagler over him.

Please tell me the "fab 4" arent who I think you are referring to.

Because the time periods barely overlap.

Who else could I be talking to? are you insinuating that they would never avoid Mike or Donald???

It was a known fact that Emmanuel Steward let Tommy fight Duran instead of Mike..thats why Mike left Kronk.. Mike was a bad matchup for Hearns, Hed surely get inside and take away Tommys spiny legs in a round

The fab 4 didn't seem to be in any hurry to face McCallum. One of the most underrated fighters ever.

Talking about Donald Curry, because thats who the statement pertained to...... McCallum might have been a different story.... The dates dont match up for Curry when he was in the same division as those 4. Unless they were moving up for the express purpose of avoiding them,

As for McCallum, I will grant you he was avoided by many, he was a tough out.

McCallum also had two close matches with a prime Toney, that could have gone either way on the scorecards, tough guy he was.

Yep, I think the one was a draw, the other was split or majority decision if my memory serves me correctly. McCallum was a little before my time, but my dad got alot of tapes on him, so I seen a decent amount of his fights, the one I always wanted to see was him against Julian Jackson, I know Jackson was undefeated when they met.

Great pick possibly the greatest Ive ever seen talent, Skill wise...
Unlike Floyd, he was much more dynamic because he had tremendous power as well...

Funny with Roy, if you have to nitpick you can make an argument about his resume, but at the same time you really cant come up objectively of who would have beaten him head to head in his prime, McCallum, SRL, Hearns..possibly

I think McCallum and Hearns could make decent arguments. I think Jones starches Leonard. As great as he was, he would be at a serious disadvantage everywhere but speed.
