Except for the fact that that punch never would have landed l agree with you. Had Lewis trained properly and acclimatized for that fight and still for whatever reason held his hand down and got hit with the same shot it would have definitely knocked him out. But people can't really survive on top of Mount Everest for a year just in case you're not aware of this.
No you're wrong, Foreman was stunned by a combination and finished with a good right hand. It was clear to see Foreman wasn't clearly hurt, he was exhausted plain and simple. Infant he tried to time the count and arguably got up in time on strong legs. Lewis was starched by one single punch, hell his head even bounced off the canvas he was that gone. He was completely out of it and didn't know where he was. If you can't see a difference between the two knockouts what more can I say...
Well there we have it, you agree that if Lewis was in the best shape of his life he still would have been knocked out by that shot.
Because all you are saying is "Fighter x got sparked, therefore he is chinny". Manny got sparked OUT against Marquez. Is he chinny or not?
Jesus... So sparked out once/twice over a 40-60 fight career is "chinny"? Go and find a new sport, child.
Yes, I can agree with that, but you can't really compare that punch to the punches Foreman took, this was essentially the equivalent of lowering your hands, sticking out your chin and saying go ahead give me your best shot. That punch would have dropped a lot of fighters, not all of them perhaps, but a fair amount who's chin is considered better than Lewis's. I think the fighters who could have taken that punch without going down would be a fairly short list, maybe 5-6 fighters maybe a few more, but regardless it's a short list. As is the list of the number of fighters who could have gotten up after Lewis connected with Rahman. Both got starched with some vicious punches. The point I was trying to make, as was Foreman, is if both Lewis and Foreman had trained properly for the fight (and Foreman fight a smarter fight), those incidences never would have happened. But you can't compare the punches that Foreman received from Ali to the punch that Lewis received from Rahman and say they are equivalent, in no way was that the case. And had that one fight either not occurred or Lewis was in shape and acclimatized for it would he still be labelled as chinny? Because then you'd be talking about one fight, rather than two, which to me are rather low numbers to start attaching the label "chinny" to.
See I wouldn't consider Pac chinny for getting KO'd with a punch that was partially assisted by his own momentum moving towards it. If it happened three or four times, perhaps then one could attach that label to him, but given his career there's no way that I would call him chinny. If everytime a fighter gets knocked down he's called chinny, whether he gets up or not, then boxing itself would consist of mainly chinny fighters, which is a ridiculous assertion.
