This is a very rich division, theres many. Off the top of my head I'd say: Sandy Saddler, Edwin Valero, Paquiao

I usually don't think of him as a lightweight, but if we're including Pryor and Saddler, then Jose Napoles deserves recognition too.

Duran stopped 11 out of the 12 title defenses as lightweight champion. Only Edwin Viruet went the 15 round distance with him in 1977.

Duran hit very hard at 135 but i think there's quite a few ahead of him.

I like Rosario - a lot. His power was absolutely immense at 135.

Perhaps a bit prematurely but the media were quite enamored with Brambles self proclaimed "coconut head" and his durability was held in high esteem after having little trouble taking Mancini's quite respectable punches over two fights with ease. Rosario decimated him.

He had Hector Camacho running all over the ring after he tasted his power and hurt him twice. Many believe Rosario was solely responsible for Camacho's suddenly more cautious style and seeming lack of confidence comparative to pre Rosario.

He dropped Howard Davis out of nowhere with about 10 seconds to go in their title fight and this may have saved his title.

Even in a losing effort his knockdowns of Jose Luis Ramirez and the trouble he had him in are eye opening. Ramirez was extremely hard to put into this sort of disarray.

Edwin Viruet went 25 with Duran and 10 with De Jesus and tho getting on was belted out of there most impressively by a young Rosario. Edwin had never been stopped. i'm sure Viruet said it was the hardest he'd been hit and that weave and BOOM right hand was the sort of thing a boxers wet dream is made of.

Even 3/4 shot he was still bombing out the likes of Anthony Jones and Garza.

    BIG puncher.

George Lavigne hit like absolute murder. It was very tough to get down there, but Joe Walcott is very likely the hardest hitter ever to compete at the weight even still. Joe Gans could certainly swat with the best of them.

Of the unknown punchers, it's likely Charley Hitte hit as hard as any of these guys. Rufe Turner was a bit more well known but could hit with the absolute best of them, guy boxed three careers, well worth looking at this fighter.

The golden era of lightweights was festooned with punchers, it was crazy really.

I like and respect your posts as always but I may point out that Roberto Duran had a longer title reign, 1972-1979. Look who he beat for the title, Ken Buchanan. Rosario beat Livingstone Bramble. Edwin did indeed hurt and in a way damaged Hector Camacho, but he did not finish him. And lastly, Rosario got pummeled by Julio Caesar Chavez Sr. Duran relinquished his title to move up to 140, then off to 147 lbs. But your opinion is well respected. Maybe a fantasy match, Duran vs Rosario would be interesting to see. Also Duran kayoed 11 of his 12 lightweight challengers.
