He was never much chop after Chavez and was from many accounts drugs came into play at some stage. Despite being a shell of what he once was he whooped the promising Kronk prospect Anthony Jones with power and dropped Loreto Garza virtually every time he landed clean despite being virtually shot by that stage.

How good was the Chavez chin?!?!?!?! For me Rosario was Chavez's peak performance. He later said Rosario was the hardest puncher he ever faced and hurt him anywhere he hit him. He nominated his own youth and peak as helping him get thru that fight.

So on paper Chavez looked virtually completely untroubled in schooling Rosario yet tells us his youth and the fact that he was in his prime helped get him thru that fight. It's fascinating in that us viewers would never have picked up on it. It looked like a routine victory in a fight we thought would be much much tougher.

Totally agree the Chappo win was an exceptional one for Chavez who simply took it all and pounded him out .. an insane chin by Chavez who at his very bests was an exceptional fighter ..
