Agree, i'm sure i've seen the Benn and second Eubank fight on youtube though, as well as the last round of the Mccallum fight, what good just the last round is i dont know.
Nuts TV used to show these fights all the time.

Still on a British early 90's thing Henry Wharton didn't bring much to the table money wise but was very difficult to beat. Basically just an iron jawed not so easy on the eye gypsy.

Can anyone think of any HW'S?
In the initial question McGrain asked for any fighter or any time in a fighters career. Lennox Lewis after the Mccall defeat sums this up, for years he was avoided and didnt bring much cash.

Nah, MDWC, it had genuinely escaped me.

What do you make of the difference between the first and second fights?

I'll have to re-watch the second one mate. It's been a while. Watts was comfortably past his best by then. I think Hagler won the first like most, but it's closer than what is made out (from a TV perspective anyway). Bobby's height and movement definitely presented Marv with many problems. He was very slick with a decent punch and it is a close fight, with the wrong winner though. :good

From memory didn't Hagler just steamroll him in the rematch? I know it ended early of course.

I like these type of fighters, and I'm going to buck the post and go for the current/recent examples

    Current:

Joan Guzman - P4P no1 skillset, ducked by Pacquaio, Marquez, Barrera, most of 122, S Harrison. No one wanted a piece of him and he didnt bring big bucks. Very disapointed he messed up his big shot against Campbell because he would have given him a 1sided schooling

Witter - blatantly ducked by Hatton for 10years, was Mayweather's mando, never got his big fight

    All time

    Burley
McCallum - in terms of getting his shot at the FAB4/5
Herol Bomber Graham - ducked by Benn/Eubanks/Watson
Kalambay - Graham-Kalambay was the same year as Leonard-Hagler and may have been the best 2 MWs that year, did they get their shot at the winner?
Holman Williams (just throw in the whole murderers row)
    Langford?
    Wills?

Jimmy Bivins he was a quality fighter, ugly style short with very long arms as well so difficult to get a similar sparring partner and he was coloured when that was still a hurdle in the sport.

And the winner is...............Michael Watson. Of this thread anyway.

And is there a more worthy winner ?
