Joe "Lethal Weapon" Savage. The guy went on a full fledged promotional tour and even did the Letterman Show bragging about fighting Tyson and Lewis in one night and trying to not kill mere mortals with a mighty backhand swat. Everyone was curious and started to believe the bravado. Then he decided to try Bert Cooper on for size. Kersplat!!! Guy looked like he'd never thrown a serious punch in anger in his life. For the diehard historians, I'd throw in Mike "The Mad Russian" Tarasewich. He got hyped as a Marciano rebirth and was getting pushed towards a big money showdown with Cooney in the Felt Forum and then his stock dropped like a cement blimp with a series of terrible performances that had Sports Illustrated suggesting he have his license pulled for his own safety.
Broner I think takes the cake. The second coming of Mayweather.....lol But Jeff Lacy as well. He was gonna crush Calzaghe by all accounts. The mini Tyson.....lol
That one's easy: Dubois Warren had already seen to that. The cards were brutal at the time of the stoppage. Warren was visibly gutted when Joyce derailed that train. Fair play to him though, he's came round to Joyce and started backing him.
Haney and Spence, just c-level weight bullies, Ryan Garcia is a 5`11 weight bully too, but unlike Haney he has power, in one hand any how.
Yeah both of them are his fighters, Joyce & his team know this very well when it relates to Warren, expect him to make a move when it suits him best, Boxers & their team's are always aware & may appear to be unknowing but deep down keep tabs on everything intact, ready to maneuver when it favors them too, then when there's breaking news it's usually one of these reasons, business above everything.
Just because he lost to joyce doesn't mean he's overhyped. Joyce is perhaps the toughest opposition in the division. Dubois probably would whoop wilder but that's not a great feat
Honestly everything that is wrong with boxing is in this thread you lose one fight differently your over hyped and **** this is why no one takes risks anymore
Broner The guy still has fans who just won't let it go. Already lost to a few guys including Malignaggi before he even got to Maidana, was given titles and decisions just off star power alone. Just comes for the paycheck now and slaps his fans in the face and they still for it, bad for boxing.
