these is due mostly to losing to JOnes in a oneside blowout....Malinga was a very good but not great fighter, but he did beat some very good fighters.

Malinga gave Nigel Benn all he could handle in their first meeting, then beat a shell in their second fight.

That happens in boxing and his KO loss to Donaire with the draw recently doesn't really help.

    Auyb Kalule.

Many will go - Who? And that is the point.

Check him out. Especially on video. He is up there with SRL, Hearns, Hagler in skill, but just didnt have the name nor support to get the rematches and trilogies etc. He got one fight and that's it. Brilliantly talented fighter.

Maan and I agreed with you on every post in this thread til this

I think Virgil Hill is pretty underrated. People only seem to know him as the guy who got stopped with a body shot.

I don't really rate fighters to be honest but I do rate him as one of the greatest fighters in Britain and from Britain. A serious threat who would have given anyone he fought hell, though I would pick RJJ to completely destroy him and outclass him in one-sided fashion but still that doesn't mean I rate him low or anything.

agree jones would have beat him, but not destroyed. benn at his best would have given jones the toughest fight of his ( early , when he was pretty much unbeatable )career.
check out the vid on page one of the benn thread on this page.

I think anybody who knows anything about boxing would rank Nigel Benn in the top 3 all time when it comes to british fighters.

Nigel Benn was the equivalent of Roberto Duran in my eyes. A mean mother ****er who seemingly got off on hurting other people. The sort of dude who should be institutionalized when he's not boxing.
